Today, let's tackle talk about our Competition Brisket Trim! We are working hard for October, so here is another portion of what we need to perfect if we want to see good results. This is a COMPLETELY different trim from my backyard trim, but it has to be a little different. Let me show you all my tips and trick on Competition Brisket!

Nicely done. I trim mine down to like 8 in max. I’ll also push the brisket together as much as it will at the end to picture how it might look after cooking.

Any tips or tricks?! I really want to do well in October!
I’ve judged a few bbq comps here in Australia and I like where your going with the trim mate but in the end it all starts with good quality meat. Also would like to see a vid of the comp in October that would be mad as. I’ve thought about doing comps but the stuff I’ve judged I stand no chance haha.

Bro I’m about to expirment with sous vide steaks and brisket. You ever thought of doing the rest with a brisket in sous vide? I’m about to try it out and rest it that way.

@@GulfCoastSmoke look it up, you can hold it at 140 after you vacuum seal it. I’ve seen it done before.

@GulfCoastSmoke I've done one so far and it didn't come out so well, but I think it's because of the meat it self wasn't good I gotta say I like it as well. I'm doing a practice run this weekend to try and figure put my cook on my offset.
Good trim..when trimming I tend to put my hand underneath the brisket and trim with the other hand...force of habit..lol make some sausage with those trimmings
