I cannot thank you enough. I am in a large gaming community (The Art of Warfare) and this POS would shut off at random intervals, whether I was talking or not. Been dealing with this issue for at least 6 months. I was close to throwing it away before I found this. Many many thanks to you!

Seen several comments for permissions while editing, I would recommend opening the file in "Notepad++" and when you save it, it will ask to open Notepad++ in admin mode and will easily let you save it. Also makes it easier to read the XML file.

For people who had issues with "Access Denied" when trying to save it. Take the file out of the folder and edit it, and then put it back in. That was the only way it would work for me. -Love, Adam Tram

if you get access denied just save it to desktop, delete the one in the folder, then drag the one on the desktop back into the folder

anyone know how to tweak it to show more than 10 hours battery life on the screen if a bigger battery is instaled?

This didn't work for me. If anything, it made it worse. Before it would turn off and back on again automatically, but now it turns off much faster and stays off until I turn it back on.

Yeah while you have the edited version open, you must delete the old version of it as administrator. Then save the document

I actually fixed this problem way easier, I pressed "exit" on the program and it has not disconnected yet :P

I tried this and it just says "access denied" with no further explanation.

Did not work for me Windows 10, I had the g930 for 2 years starting getting this ( I assume when I upgraded to 10). So I bought a new set cuz my old ones where just getting old and I figured it was just old lol. However the battery time to 0 just kept turning off my headset. So instead I set it for 3600 mins, which would be 10 hours, Figure that's the battery life anyway. Hope this works. Going to go and game a bit see if I get any issues. Thanks for the idea though :)

I believe its in seconds, so you would need 36000 for 10 hours, 3600 is just 1 hour.

Anyone know how to set up the headset so that when I turn it on it transfers from my speakers to the headset, vice versa, rather than setting default device every time I want to use it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Look up SoundSwitch on GitHub. I use it as a streamer. Sometimes I listen through my TV, sometimes my headset. I disliked having to do it manually. SoundSwitch by dmwyatt. You simply use CTRL+ALT+ENTER to switch between 2 sources. Adios.

Worked fine but I upgraded my system now and everytime when the Gaming Software is starting my G930 lost connection after a second and it connects again in a second, and after a second it lose connection again ...... same shit again and again for about 5 minutes and then it works fine. While it works finde when I turn off Gaming Software and start it again, the problem begins again. I already tried different USB Slots but no chance. Logitech Support is also gay they won´t help. I used it on my old system without problems just the 900sec intervall, but with your trick it worked fine. I used Windows 7 on my old system and I also used my G930 on my laptop with Win 8.1 and Win 10 and also no problems -.- Now my new system has Win 10 and I also formated and installed Win 8.1 again but also no succes -.- I also tried old drivers from my old x64 system but also no succes -.- I´m out of ideas and the problem pissing me off -.- I just found 1 guy with the same problem like me in a forum and someone wrote him an interesting idea but it also didn´t worked for me D: My Systems Motherboard is a ASUS Maximus VIII Hero Socket 1151 with newest Drivers

It also works on G933.

+Robert Schmidt This fix doesn't work, so I watched. My headset turns off and on randomly. Some games it works perfectly some only sound comes out left or right side but not both. Even if the surround switch is toggled back and forth (which fixes it half the time I've found out). I exchanged it for same headphones and the replacements did it to. I still use them, but Astro a50s have taken over as my day to day headphones even tho I prefer the pain in the ass g930s sound. Pain in the ass. Pain in the assssssssssss.

This didn't work for me, even the link's directions he pasted in the description. What DID work for me was: 1. Right click Device_Manifest.xml document file 2. Click the Security tab 3. Click Edit to the right of "To change permissions, click Edit." 4. Click on your user and check the "Full control" box 5. Click Apply Done. Probably.

If you get the message that "Access is denied" simply go to the PROPERTIES; SECURITY; and change the SECURITY for USERS to allowing everything; then the file will be able to be edited and saved.

+Jeffery Peters (Ferrariassassin) go into settings on the folder, and you can change the permissions from there, i did that in windows 10

I did this 5 minutes ago, and while watching the video it cut off twice. Ordered a non wireless pair and will make a video shattering this pair and send it to logitech. So stay tuned!

Try taking ownership of the file before making changes to it. You can do it easily with this tweak - www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/

THE Darebearius Just clarifying for people who think this means G93x series wireless headsets. I think the latest update has an option to turn it off. Works great. Just have to remember to plug them in to charge overnight when I leave work.

How do I do that? I have a G933 and the latest hardware but can't find the option.

I cant watch this but my problem is REALLY weird. Every now and then my G930 will randomly disconnect. Most of the time nothing happens but every now and then when it disconnects my computer seems totally incapable of playing ANY Flash videos From ANY browser / software. Only way to fix it that I've discovered is restarting my computer... WTF!? I have no idea how to even go about searching google for this.

i had this problem too. its really simple all you need to do is just insert the usb into a different slot

access is denied. Windows 10. i even ran it as admin and no text showed up when i drag the file onto notepad. notta.

Arno Nym Its Logitech's design there is too fuckt up so it broke easy.... i got 2 of them and both died after 2 month, and 5 month......all other peoples i know with the same headset had it for 2-5 month as well before the same problem happend....

Mr Fox right click Notepad run as admin Open the file from within notepad and then do as the video says

Same thing happened to me, but worked around it. Right click Notepad and open as administrator. Then go to File/Open in Notepad to open the file.

its no longer recognized as a headset once you change the code. I would not suggest this

+AzuL4573 UPDATE: The device manifest was saved as a text file, make sure you save it as an xml file.

+kokingsclan2 Hey bud if you haven't fixed it yet, open notepad as admin, then go "open file" and go to that folder which he showed, it won't show up, so you right click on it, open with notepad, put in 0 and CTRL+S :)

+Duncan Mackenzie l uninstalled my headset drivers. I went into the folder that he shows in the video and deleted it. Then I went on Logitech's website and re-downloaded the software.

To have the gaming software see it, you need to change how you save it. Instead of leaving it as a .txt file, you need to change the file type to "All Files" and then name it Device_Manifest.xml. This will make it a compatible file for the software.

When you re saving the file, use Save As, make sure the name is the same, and in the box under the name, it will say .txt as the extension. Click on the dropdown box to "All Files", and then add ".xml" to the end of the file name. It will save it as an XML file that the software can read. ive had no issues so far.

If you have the application installed, you can right click the icon on your desktop and click "Open file location".

On Windows 10 64 bit system the folder is "C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\Resources\G930\Manifest" on Windows 10 32bit system I thing it will be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Logitech Gaming Software\Resources\G930\Manifest" Unless you changed the default software install path. I did have to download the takeownership file unzip it and install the takeownership cmd the right click the G930 fold and click take owner ship before editing the file. It worked for me good luck.
