How to Size and Assemble 3D Printed Iron Man Gloves

Ойын-сауық

Welcome everyone on my cover-all video regarding sizing and assembling iron man gloves! This isn't an electronics tutorial, sorry! That's for another longer video. In THIS video i cover the various ways i size and assemble my Iron Man gloves. From scaling to different methods of fitment.
DadDava MK6 Suit:www.thingiverse.com/thing:177...
-Hand files are sliced slightly differently than the standalone set.
-Use Slic3er or Meshmixer to "Seperate Shells" to print each small finger piece if required
DaDave MK6 Hands: www.thingiverse.com/thing:162...
-The Solo MK6 hand files.
Free DO3D Gloves: www.do3d.com/forum/free-3d-pr...
-These free gloves fit small but are a much higher quality print. Use these for better accuracy to the films
Hinged DO3D Gloves (Use code FBT20 for 20% off!)

-While i don't recommend these for cosplay they're still awesome to print and have!

About to print my 3rd one and it's good to know it's not just me having an issue scaling these things.... lol. I thought I was measuring wrong or just missing a simple step but you're right, there really is no good way to measure the hand against the STL file.

For the palm lights, I'm using LED strip wrapped around the perimeter of the ring and facing inward, covered by frosted perspex, which gives a halo effect to the light. Cutting 5v strip at 2 or 3 LEDs shy of the cut line allows you to use a 3.7v LiPo to power it.

Nice work Frank! Have you looked into using a glove like the Maxiflex glove brand? They are thin, woven nitrile, very pliable and it might totally eliminate the flex tape. We used them at work. You could pick up a 1/4" washer off the work table. The electronics could be applied to the outside of the glove and not to the inside of the printed glove. Of course the print would have to be sized larger. The flex glove could be lightly painted to hide the skin color of your hand also. Just thinking out loud! 🤓

Yup, I have a bag full of 'failed' prints. I had crazy problems with scaling the individual finger segments to suit my own hands. All sorts of percentage ratios on even a single finger. I'm basing mine over snug fitting leather gloves which match the burgundy red of the paintwork, which complicates things somewhat. I was thinking of attaching the wrist plates with those magnetic purse snaps.
