Frank: This isn't a one size fits all Me after a successful print: I'M NEVER CHANGING ANYTHING EVER!!!
Frank, this was a massive help, I've been struggling with removing supports and the support density has helped me no end, yesterday eas the first time I printed with a raft and used the support density that you described and the supports came of sooooooo easy and didn't leave a massive mess. Thank you
Another strategy for preserving fine details at the bottom of a model is to turn off the "Automatically drop models to the build plate" setting (Preferences > Configure Cura> General) and raising the model a millimeter or two off the build plate so that everything at the bottom is on supports regardless of orientation. Z-clearance permitting you may also be able to print more vertically, potentially reducing print time and support material. In some cases, though, doing so may just raise some features that require support, like the eyes on the mask at the beginning, making for taller supports without really reducing material used. It's also a good idea to keep *some* tilt for tall prints to make sure they don't topple over before they finish. So it may not always be the best option, but it's shaved between 30 minutes and 1 1/2 hours off of a few prints for me.
Wonderful video, Frank! I'm loving these Cura tutorials; they've made my life SO much easier!
your the man dude, thanks for the help. I picked up a new Ender 3 S1 Plus with the intention of printing helmets. Print orientation has been a real concern of mine since it drastically changes print time and materials used. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom. Stay blessed!
Oh, and the mark 85 helmet is definitely my favorite
This video was so helpful! I kinda want to start on printing things myself and im trying to learn as much as possible before actually buying a 3d printer and this and many of your videos help me a lot :)
dude this is amazing, i used to jump from video to video in your channel just to find the info i needed and now you put everything i need into just one of them, youre awesome man
Great Video!!! ill defiantly put this is my "3D print important" folder!! You always have great info to share... thanks Frank!!

Another awesome video tutorial. Thanks Frank. As you know, I’m just starting my 3D print journey. My first print is Mjollnir, currently on my Voxelab. All your tips have helped me a ton. Cheers brotha 👌🏼
YES, THANK YOU omg I have been looking for a update on this tutorial, thank you
Brilliant video love that black panther helmet I hope we get to see it finished in the future 🙏
This really helped us out, that answered a lot of my questions about files and with how to use it, thank you
First time printing the iron man helmet on my ender 3 pro. I cut the top in half to fit and printed both parts upside down to cut time, supports, and they came out great. Thanks!
Great video, we really like some of your layouts and I hope it helps us make some cooler helmets in the future
Thank you so much for this videos frank
On my first 3D printed prop, a scorpion mask, I wanted to save some time, because it was my first prop and I didn't know Prince usually took so much time. I positioned it forward, and all of the cracks and crevices were just filled with support material it took blood sweat and tears to get that all out, and I learned a valuable lesson lol
Its amazing how much 3d printing has improved. I've seen some printers in the affordable $200-500 range. Tempted after watching this video! Thanks for sharing
I just took the plunge, tonight I purchased a creality Ender 3 pro. I have been practicing with cura . Thank you for great advice.
This has been a huge help. Thank you!
Great video! Really informative!
This helped a lot, thank you
Keep this amazing content coming and keep inspiring others!
Fantastic video! Thst support density and infill percentage setting gets a lot of people.
Frank thank you I wasn’t shore how to place my prop without you sing many supports
My bro. Aloha. Great videos as always. Haven't got to printing the nova yet but ironman, black panther, iron spider,, predator and others done on the ender 3 was a mission and a half. Thanks for the information and inspiration 👊🤙
DUDE! You helped me soooo much! thank you!
Awesome work,as always 👍🏽🔥🎃🔥👍🏽
Great content here!
very good video i started printing only a few months ago it has given me the move i needed to get a new hobby and will say it is worth and its lot of fun to do anyone thinking about it try it P.S if you don't want to spend time making your own most likely someone has done it this is a good way to start as well XD
I'll decrease my Support Interface Density too. I find that it can be a real pain to sand off at times. I also take advantage of using just a brim, which saves time and filament, but like you said it's not one size fits all.
Thx for teaching us this, ur a really good teacher may i say :)
Thanks Frank!
Thank you for the video. I didn't know support blocker was a thing. Everything else was indeed awesome!
First time watching you. Subscribed...'nuff said.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the Black Panther orientation explanation. I've had so many issues trying to print this file.
Awesome background!!!!!
Great video
I know that this was a year ago but this has helped me a lot i didnt know i was supost to make the infill density to 2 it has helped me print things so much better, and Thank you Frank. :p
Great info.
I've watched so many of your videos I found myself humming your intro theme song this morning. Great video yet again

No way!
Good info man thanks ,go a cr10 v2pro at work and was wondering at what speed i could print and how to save time on prints , we tend to print stuff with alot of supports ,this really helps
Just looking at the data, making just a few adjustments I can save %10 time, but up to %30 filament. Thanks for the tips. My first print of the Iron Man helmet waas a disaster, but one that you can look and and learn from (which you've mentioned on other videos) I did order an extender kit for my 3D printer to take it to 400x400 so piecing and welding should be eliminated.
the 4k is cleannn
Really helpful video. Thanks man! I've already printed a few helmets. Black Panther being one of them but I need a better one as mine doesn't fit together with magnets and the fit isnt great. Took days too like you said. I will definitely be trying out your tips on printing dome side down for a Mando helmet. I want to print a full suite but I haven't quite got to grips with Armoursmith yet for sizing...
Waiting on that PR helmet. Using do3d models the backs print fine in one piece, but I haven't found a way to orient the front that don't use a ton of support and end up cutting them in half somewhere above the visor.
In one of your previous scaling vids i noticed we have the same size head (well like 99% the same) what do you scale your mk85 helmet from cgtrader to? Save me printing test rings, love the channel your the reason im making a suit!!
Hello, I was wondering what your favorite beginner/budget friendly 3D printer would be. I know you have made the videos and streams but I was wondering now if you have an updated version. I was wondering this because of your solov sv 03 video. Do you still recommend that over the creality ender 3?
Nice to know I’m making a Batman mask hopefully today and it was gonnna take 5 days now it gonna take less so I can work on the rest of the suit faster
Thank you for the info, I am trying to 3d print the Star Boost whole suit and i am having problems with the Helmet...I am not a small guy 6'4" about 270 and i have a CR10V2, and i need to cut the helmet and use less filament.
Love content
Very informative video for helping me work on how to go about printing a clone trooper helmet. One question though in regard to supports. Are you using the gyroid pattern on those as well as the helmet, and if not what have you found to be the best option? Thank you.
This was a great guide! (But you forgot your etsy link in the description! )

Can you show a video on how YOU fuse and or glue the iron man helmets together
can you share that raft setting to come off that easy and cleanly
can u do a video on how to weather spray paint on your prints??
Thanks for the Sunlu discount, 10 rolls of PLA incoming :)
Frank where can we go to get a headscan for a 3d printing. PLEASE LET US KNOW.
Hi, what filament did you use? I have problems with eco-pla filament. I would like to try with the filament you used to print the ironman helmet
What about nozzle size and print quality, I bought one model, rocketeer helmet that in the description says to print with a .8 nozzle, Im using the standard .4 as I don't want to change to a larger nozzle, I know that will increase print time but do I then max out my print quality to .4 or leave it at .15 or .2? Can you go over those settings?
Very well done. I learned quite a bit. Do you use Acura exclusively? Or have you worked with any other slicers?
I love the mando helmet in red and gold colors. Where did you get the silver colored visor?

I’ve been trying to figure out my supports and how much is needed a couple weeks now to reduce my time and mats use; support blocker. Had no clue
Frank, how do you size a helmet to fit your head?
I can't find your video about direct drive parts. 😢 Thanks for the videos I've seen so far
I’m working on making Loki horns at my school but I have to drop the STL onto Cura because we use onshape and it doesn’t do much :/
What do recommend for over hang. I got everything dialed in but im having over hang issues.
like Ur videos, question I'm new to this 3d thing when I got machine it printed fine in center of bed but when i downloaded Cura it started to print in front left corner of plate. need help how do i get it to print in center again.
When printing a full head helmet, would you use PLA or PETG?
Hello I'm looking to start 3d printing what printer do you use for the anime swords
I have been having problem with glue..plz. What is a good glue to use for PLA?
Hey where do you get support blockers for cura?
Hey sir I have a ender 3 so can you suggest and first' prop for ender 3
Lmao the short iron man in the back😂
Are you selling his helmet (iron man mark 85 helmet)from thingevers
Frank, I am having trouble printing the Cod/ Crotch piece for the Mark 85 Iron Man suit on my Creality CR-10S. I have failed printing several times. May I have some advice?

Uhhhh cut it into smaller parts and print it
Do you think these settings would work for an Uber Jason X mask on CR10-V3?
Any Cura Profiles that would work with the Anycubic Vyper? Still can’t quite seem to get my prints to come out clean. I currently have Cura 4.13 and I am using Amazon PLA
Looks great. Link for stl?
When you block off the center of the helmet around @11:00 does it not need that support in the middle of the helmet? I want to do a mando one soon and would love to save the extra hours and resources if possible.
@FranklyBuilt

…no lol that’s why I said and showed it doesn’t need it haha 😆 I also cover it in my mando tutorial
can i use your cura settings on ender 3v2 ?
I have never managed to print that bloody star on the nova helmet
What size nozzle are you using to print and are they the settings you use with that nozzle great video this week thanks for showing us how you are doing it

@@FranklyBuilt so it doesn’t matter what size nozzle you used I am printing with a size 4 on my CR10 V2 and on the Ender 3Pro I was just wondering if I needed to change the nozzles up to a size 6 to use the settings you are using thank you for your help
I wanted to let you know about the project I had I was talking about it before and I used the lawn the dark filament with some graphite powder and it still glows in the dark check it out do-it-yourself it's pretty cool
Support density....UBER important!!!!! I didn't know the magnet holes have been added!! Genius! Dude. Your PC is amazingly fast!! What are you using to run Cura?? My laptop freezes up SOOOO bad! I absolutely LOVE these tutorials!!! Keep em coming....maybe a Starlord helmet? 😁

Hello friend, what a great video. Next week I want to print (for the first time) a Deadpool helmet. What would you advise me regarding speed, infill, overhangs, and temperature? I have an Ender 3 Neo Max and I'm a beginner. Thanks. I hope it's clear, English is not my native language.
As for the dome iron man helmet upside down print. What if my file has a jaw attached? What’s the best way to orient that?
What are your setting on your ender?
Besides lowering support density, you can also switch the support fill to concentric, and usually save a lot of plastic by dialing in just enough space between the lines to minimize the time spent building support.
Hey I know this probably won’t get seen due to this video being out for quiet some time. But I’m having problems s with gets the mk 85 faceplate and jaw to line up. And was wondering if there’s something I’m missing?
By taking out all the supports in the middle of a Mando helmet won’t it fall apart? It’s almost printing in mid air! Or is the over lay good enough?
Where did you get that iron man helmet file? I cant find any mark 85 helmets that are in those 4 pieces.
i’m trying to get into 3D printing so i downloaded Ultimaker Cura but it’s really laggy once i try to preview it after slicing it, is there anything i can do to fix that or do i just need a better computer? i have an ASUS Laptop
Im trying to figure out the orientation of a master chief helmet to print on one shot on my n3m
Have a question for you. Can I use my i pad pro for this printer?
What are your tips for doing weapons like guns or sword?
@FranklyBuilt

I have a bunch of other videos showing stuff like that. Large props and cutting them up
I’ve been trying to print out a iron man mark 2-42 hinged glove from do3d and I can’t find a great position for the individual pieces so is there any good position?

Like tea cups for the fingers
I got a question, do you alway have to use supports for large prints? I recently printed a 1/6 scale 2018 dodge Durango and it took 32 days because of the supports, which took 4 1/2 filaments. So do I necessary need supports?
@FranklyBuilt
Жыл бұрын
You need supports to supports impossible to print areas
