    It’s worth noting the time variable as well. You’re not chucking all this down at once. It gets spread out over the months of your build and in stages. So take your paycheck (or allowance for some viewers) and buy filament. Next the sandpaper as you start to dial in prints, then paint etc, etc.

    I am waiting on my Fookos machine to get here on Friday. I am doing Dr. Fate first. Then I got this dope War Machine file that has this huge gun mounted on the back and on both shoulders. I will definitely be looking more at your vids to get tips on THAT project for sure! I purchased Armor Smith and have been toying with it to get comfortable in scaling. It doesn't seem TOO complex. It is rather intuitive. Properly placing supports is something I know I will have issue with. I have yet to start, and it is giving me anxiety. I dropped TONS on filament though. That is why I went with the Fookos. The Sovol sv03 will be my next upgrade most likely.

    Also have to look at what you can afford pilment wise, but please don't go cheap. Also check those 3d models in mesh mixer sometimes there is errors that will cause your printing issue. I bought a model and payed $10 for it just to find it wouldn't print, some models will just not print for the life of you. An no ender 3s stay way pay a little more I'd get the ender 5 pro as my first printer. Mine was my second printer and it's outlasted my 5 other printers I have owned.

    That's a really nice and comprehensible breakdown! I've been meaning to do a video sort of like this but more directed to ppl who want to start in 3D printing altogether (directed to cosplayers) There's just one "minor" item you forgot to mention: electricity, we also need to weight in the electric bill

  • @FranklyBuilt

    @FranklyBuilt

    2 жыл бұрын

    So. Honestly electricity isn’t really relevant. That’s like also trying to calculate how much water you’ll drink why working in the project. Depending on your printer, area you live in, print time, and much more, that number will vary way to much to even attempt to calculate

  • @Lusanagi

    @Lusanagi

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@FranklyBuilt granted: you can't quantify the electric bill because of the different price in every area, but you internally need to weight it in, and even more so when the prices in some places are ludicrous (I live in Mexico and although it's not as bad as Spain for example, we do get steep prices based on the consumption)

    you *totally can* print suits in PLA, but they tend to warp and melt in any kind of sun or a warm room, etc. etc. If I wanted to print something that lasts for a long while, I would print in ABS. it's a bit more difficult in that you need to enclose your printer (abs doesn't like breezes and a consistent chamber temp is paramount to avoid warping) but the results are WAY more durable (abs is what they make lego out of), and ABS filament is maybe $5 more per kg and prints great in most machines (so long as you enclose them, a taped together cardboard box is perfectly fine).

  • @FranklyBuilt

    Was watching the Red Hood video before this and thought about what you said at the end asking about other stuff to print. Thought about Zero's helmet from Code Geass LeLouch of the rebellion. Really cool helmet, and pretty original design compared to Iron Man or Mandalorian.

    If we really wanted something done in 3-D printing, but didn’t have any materials would it be OK if people worked some kind of deal with you to make there idea/project a reality

    One thing to consider.. For individuals not looking to buy a 3D printer right a way, the net work of brand clothing and accessories You-tubers can offer, make me question if many channels offer to custom build orders, of customers who'd pay for it ("it" being a suit), like car enthusiasts do.
