    Quick tip, just use antifreeze, exactly same as pump armour, and can get 5lts for 20quid, used it for years in my impact 440 and airlessco's, can run it through those then stops any freezing issues over winter as well

    Hi, I personally would not use an airless for cabinetry spraying... Only if it was air assisted. I would most likely use a hvlp stage 5, or a decent compressor set up in a workshop. If I had to use an airless, it would be with a 310 tip mostly. The reason for not using standard airless is to reduce the amount of overspray /waste, and the fact it is too fast and has less control in tight spaces. All the best, Joe

    Great informative video Joe. My question is, have you sprayed water based (not acrylic) undercoat, gloss or satin with your machine and how successful was it? Thanks.

  • @JoeProDecor

    @JoeProDecor

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes very successful, and requires little or no thinning like hvlp or xvlp.....but.....the only downfall is generally more overspray/waste, and you have to be alot faster with your technique to avoid too much going on and causing runs. The only paints I have had issues with are hybrids as they tend to cause tip blockages. This is also more likely with these paints on this particular pump because there is no manifold filter. Thanks, and all the best, Joe

  • @JoeProDecor

    @JoeProDecor

    The gx21 is better suited to spraying larger area's (over anything that takes more than 5 litres really as the hopper on the gxff means refilling more often compared to working straight out of a 10 or 15 litre tub when spraying emulsion. Tbh... I have the tubs lined up and simply pour into the hopper as and when... And because the gxff is ideal for Woodwork ect... It's the perfect pump for me. They both do the same job so it's just whether you prefer to fill the hopper or work straight from a tub.

    Just bought one and noticed you didn’t mention the filter, not the gun filter but the filter inside where you attach the hose by the pressure gauge. Do you use that filter or just leave it out? It’s not convenient to get to, also I wondered if it might cause stress on that small pump motor to push paint through that filter and the gun filter properly..maintaining proper pressure.

  • @JoeProDecor

    @JoeProDecor

    3 жыл бұрын

    Tbh ive only ever replaced that once( a wjile ago now and it is awkward), and the gun filter not so many times but i don't spray on a weekly basis. Not having a manifold attached like bigger models does effect the max pressure slightly apparently, and does mean there is little more chance of tip blockages. You can actually have a manifold fitted to this sprayer.

  • @JoeProDecor

    @JoeProDecor

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Andy, it is fantastic for professional work... Its just not up to day in, day out use tbh. It sprays most emulsions without trouble although I do usually have to thin slightly for masonry paint just to avoid putting too much strain on it. I don't spray that often so it's perfect for me on the odd refurb job, or large domestic. You might want to consider the gx21ff if you plan on spraying emulsion more than trim paints Cheers, Joe

    Hi there, yes I have...you have to be really quick with an airless...but works really well with experience. It's best to use a smaller tip on spindles like a 108/110...then go onto a 208/210 when you get used to it. But I used a fussy bloke 4 inch sleeve on these and layed off as benjamin moore scuff x flattens off really quickly

  • @JoeProDecor

    Sometimes in domestic properties, it's more hassle than it's worth spraying...especially when the clients are in the property as all the doorways need masking off. Plus you have to consider how much more paint you will need when spraying, and benjamin moore is very expensive as it is

  • @JoeProDecor

    @JoeProDecor

    3 жыл бұрын

    The 390 is more expensive becsuse it has a bigger pump, and a built on manifold filter. The bigger pumps can produce more pressure resulting in being able to spray thicker material, or work less vigorously to spray the same thickness material. A bigger pump will be under less srain meaning it can last longer and run more continously. Having a manifold filter means it will minimise the risk of getting tip blockages.
