Those are some really nice looking worms. Wish I could get some Africans or euros. Great start to a breeder bin. Can’t wait to see lots of cocoons. 🎉🎉🎉

I am curious I am thinking about ordering 500 night crawlers from a site so totes I have drilled and already added compost paper etc Is like a 2’ tall by 1’ wide and 4’ long so I should be good with 500 in there right?

500 is plenty. They'll multiply quick too. You'll end up with a few thousand different ages in there within 12 weeks. You'll be able to create a lot of castings quick.

Thanks for your comment. What more would you have liked for me to explain in the video to make it easier for you and others to have a better understanding of how to do it? Your response will be really useful. Thanks

ANC is a 14 day breeding cycle, not 12. Euros, red wigglers and blues (?) ae on a 21 days cycle.

Yes! I learnt that the hard way. I speak about it in follow up videos. Check out this one kzread.info/dash/bejne/mpONl5ermqbNhtI.html

I keep reading that peat moss is antimicrobial. Is this a concern?

How can you tell that they are mature enough to breed?

When you can spot their Clitellum, the little band around their body, it indicated that their reproductive organ is developed enough for them to breed.

They can be as long as 12 inches and pretty fat. I get 6 - 7 worms per ounce.

I am able to see Redworm cocoons fairly well but have never seen ANC cocoons. I've been told the are dark in color.

They are darker. I find if you wet the Castings, the ANC cocoons are better visible.
