Sampling in music is most certainly the trend right now, and for good reason. Red Velvet have multiple examples of this in their discography, each serving a different twist on how a well-known piece can be sampled into modern pop music. In this video we are breaking down Feel My Rhythm and Birthday, and discussing how the two are similar and how they differ when it comes to sampling.
We are looking at how Air on the G String by Bach is combined with trap elements to create a song which takes us on a modern, yet very familiar journey. We are then looking at how Birthday uses the very core idea of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue to catapult is into an entirely new direction.
