How to use TENSION to tell a story with ATEEZ

Музыка

Ateez are known for a bold sound and a rich lore which go hand in hand in their title tracks and B-sides alike. The Ring is one such B-side which perfectly combines various musical approaches with traditional storytelling.
In this video we are revising the concept of tension and release in music and considering how it hits the wider scope of storytelling. We are looking at different songwriting approaches to create tension, such as utilising space and pauses in the topline and the instrumental, writing melodies on and off beat as well as dipping into different scales and modes.
We are also looking at the importance of sound selection, what moods and contexts we associate with certain instruments and how we can pick the right sounds to create tension.
Background music is always self produced by the SerpentIris Team.

without the space before the chorus it sounds sudden and abrupt almost anticlimatic but the double space before the chorus is literal perfection! my favourite part pf the song because of how impactful it is. silence is a powerful tool in music and edenary know too well how to use it to their advantage! thank you for this video!! looking forward to more ATEEZ song analysis from this channel!
