Thanks! I figured that was the process but had to pull a LOT harder than I thought to remove the old glass. One additional tip- after the glass has been removed, orient the mounting base from pointing up to pointing down, and it will be a lot easier to catch the hooks and align the metal tabs that come on genuine Toyota replacement glass. Thanks again.

Same here, I had to apply a lot of force to get it to snap out. Also, on the 2022 sr5 when it pops out there are two small (heating?) cables that you need to disconnect and reconnect to your new glass. My replacement mirror from amazon didn't come with the metal spurs, but you can reuse the ones from the old mirror.
Great, thank you! I found that the smallest shot of silicone spray lube on the plastic clips eased getting the new mirror into place- the 15 year old snap ins didn't want to cooperate at first, and I didn't want to break the new glass.

I have a 2002 Tacoma in my Mira looks identical sure there’s some difference but not much as far as behind a mirror. I’m not sure yet but I’m gonna get a defrost heater kit so that your video help me out quite a bit. Thank you for your time.!
Thank you for this video. My step fathers mirror on his 06 Tacoma got hit and cracked the glass. So we got exactly what you have. The House casing for the mirror is a bit cracked on side and bottom is bit out from the hit. But this video help me put the mirror on in minutes. Thanks!
My top clips fit in, but can't seem to the get the bottoms to "click" in. When I took it for a drive, the mirror shakes quite a bit. Tips? Do the metal spurs help with securing the mirror?? Thanks!
