I use a lot of automatic car washes so that's probably what made my mirror loose. Good luck Liz!

Great how to vid. Sir! My 2006 developed this same problem. Your video took the guess work out of it. The ones under the cap were way loose.

Thank you sir! I use alot of automatic car wash too. The car wash guys always push the mirrors in before entering the car wash. Guess that's what made mines loose.

Thanks for the tip. I've got the same problem on my 2005. I wonder if some loc-tite on the threads would prevent the screws from loosening up?

*Update* use 1/4” M6 split lock washers to improve the connection with the hardware.

Thank you. I didn't, could see the "hidden tab" and that was the ticket. We often pull our mirrors in due to a tight garage, so will continue the process to see if there are worn gaskets/nuts above the two screws in the compartment, but for now, it is tighten. Not in the mood to take the door off. (Tacoma 2005)
