    I replaced them bc they had over 250k and I was changing out the shocks and cv axels that were bad. They were less than $20 each and I already had an alignment scheduled. I didn’t want to go through all the other work to only have to change them out soon and pay for another alignment. They could have lasted a bit longer. But any issues with them… leaking, noises, etc change them out and get an alignment

    Cotter pins are pretty inexpensive, I'm make sure to get one to ensure a proper secure connection. You can get them at lots of locations (like an Ace or big box store) for next to nothing. I’d get a few different thickness to make sure you get one that fits right. I’m not sure why the one it came with didn’t fit right.

    How hard is it to replace the rest of your tie rod (not just the end)?

  • @MCFIXIT

    @MCFIXIT

    2 жыл бұрын

    Why are you replacing the whole tie rod? If it's because of a boot leak at the rack and pinion. You may need to change the whole rack and pinion out. I need to do this in the near future due the excessive leaking of the grease.
