This was helpful. I don’t have an impact so the nut was just spinning when I would get a few turns in and then start spinning. I ended up using a pair of pliers to on the base of the joint and then tightened the nut on with a wrench. You have to give the pliers a really tight squeeze other wise you’ll chew up your new part. Also good if the bite on the pliers is narrow so you don’t touch the rubber boot at all.

I have a question have you ever replaced your sway bar bushings I have a 2016 kia soul and was wondering how difficult would it be to replace them. I have tried to look for videos to see if anyone has ever replaced them but can't find anything. So any info would help very much.

My experience the only thing to make them harder to replace when the rubber bushings itself start to get bonded to a metal bracket, I had one few months ago that I had to removed the sway bar itself and used propane torch to get the rubber bushing melted and scrape it off, but if you don’t have that issue they are simple to replace.

Is this the same thing as a stabilizer link? I don't know the jargon I'm afraid.

Why work as an animal? First put the wrench to hold the sway bar link then use the impact.

Always replace struts/shocks in pairs. That's just common practice. No foul here.

If one went bad, the other isn't far behind. Some shops would decline to do both and you're back a month later with even more labor costs.
