This is the only video with this type of mirror attachment that I could find. Without the hint of tilting the mirror and pushing up, I’d still be pushing today. Now to drive cycle (plenty of vids on that) and try and pass a smog test. A stolen catalytic converter has made my already living hell, more hellish lol
We had the driver's side mirror pane on our '08 Corolla pop out, and weren't sure how to get it back in. It's a power mirror, and has the two bushings and central cup-and-post attachment point just like in this video. Following your directions, being sure to apply pressure on the glass pane at an angle to the mirror mount in order to fit the central round "cup" back on, worked great. We also covered the pane with tape, and some cardboard to ease the pressure on the glass. We actually put the bushings on the back of the mirror glass first (the reverse of your re-install order, where you put the bushings in the holes on the mirror mount first--this seemed a bit difficult to line up). Thanks for posting this!
I did exactly as you did. And I broke the new mirror. I wonder how many takes, it took to make it look so easy. I'm almost 73 been working on cars and airplanes since I was 14. Some just ain't right here!
Gotta love Toyotas and their simple construction
Only install the bottom tab in the reverse way and do the top tab the normal way it will save you a lot of time
Worked perfect for my 04 Sequoia, the "sneak" from the bottom up during installation made things much easier, I didn't have to remove the pins from the mirror though.
Used same method to replace 2004 corolla mirror. Kept the bushing on the replacement glass part thought, seemed easier to set into place that way.
Thanks for your excellent videos!
I found that when I took the bushing out if the mirror if the 06 toyota matrix it dud not want to go back. Nor did it want to go back with the bushings back into the housing. Lining up those slots seems near impossible. It just won't fit on. Is there a way to fit it up easier? I am afraid of breaking the glass. I have pressed hard but the tabs for the mirror just won't snap back in!
Tried it this way and the mirror broke... And I can't get the original to reinstall. Hate my life.
can I purchase just the connecting tabs for the back of the mirror?
Do u have this for a 2002 toyota tacoma right side
Do you know what a shunt 32v fuse in a 1992 s10 blazer in used for, like what purpose it serves?
im trying to replace my mirror in my 04 tundra. I currently have the turn indicator in the mirror. all the ones i see to buy do not have the turn signal indicator. any help?
