Thank you!! This worked for our '18 Sequoia-limited. The dealer wanted $1200 to replace the mirror glass alone. The replacement part was $336.41, and it took a whopping 5 minutes total to fix. Part # 89703-0c130

I just bought a replacement mirror on Amazon for $60

Thank you for this brilliant short and to the point fixing video. How about if the circular housing popped out and I need to reinstall it in the big frame can I do it without opening the star shaped screws covering the motor box ? It would be really nice to see how do you do that.

I’m going to try again. I believe mine is glued as well. Literally had two pry bars on it, hitting it with a mallet and no luck. Thanks for showing how it’s supposed to come off.

Try to apply heat inside the mirror housing with a hair dryer or heat gun. They are never glued from the factory but as years go by the plastic "welds" itself.

Thanks bro...I tried it your way...was a little scared so I used those lil pumps those car locks guys use to pry window for lockout.. 35 bucks only and also used to to reinstall the mirrors ....for ppl with glue problem ..use a heat gun like I did...fyi

Is the mirror (glass) glued to that black plate that's attached to it? I'm looking to install a signal light arrow to the glass mirror from the back side of the mirror. Thanks

Yes, the glass is glued to the back plate, so installing a signal arrow light might be difficult to do.

Hi there. Thanks for the video! I have a 2012 platinum with the heated, memory, puddle, all the gizmos. I tried this and I really feel like I'm about to break the glass... Is the Platinum different? If you happen to know. Cheers.

The Platinum has exactly the same backing plate. You still have to pop the mirror upwards, otherwise the round motor mount will break and remain attached to the mirror glass (it's supposed to stay inside the housing). Try to blow warm air (hair dryer or heat gun) behind the glass...

My mirror was GLUED to the round thing with the 4 tabs! Came that way, as I never messed with my 2008 Tundra mirror! Still searching for a solution to that situation

To remove the round motor mount from the back of the glass slide it out. It should not have any glue.

@@spottermirror Yet it was glued. So I hope others don't encounter that but perhaps it was just a "thing" on the 2008 Tundra 4x4 5.7 Crewmax? I don't want to diminish from your excellent video and how tremendously helpful it was. Thank you again,

Im about to remove my mirror glass on my 15 Tundra. I fear it may be glued also and that the procedure shown will break it. Am I supposed to heat the OEM mirror first before prying it off as shown?

Tacoma is different. There are 4 clips and you only need to pull from top or bottom.
