How to replace a Hypertherm Torch

I have been itching to replace my original torch on my Hypertherm Powermax 1000 with a new one. Hypertherm make a retrofit to upgrade a Powermax to the newer Duramax torch. Watch how easy it is to make this conversion. A little testing at the end as well.

Nice there are companies out there that will upgrade older machines, and not just hook you into a new one.kudos to them for making a long lasting machine!

That HP 1000 is a beast of a machine. We at the welding school had the 85, max cut up to 1" plate. HP has the longest lasting consumables in the industry IMHO, and experience. You can be cutting the "BIG IRON" with that baby...thanks for posting brought back memories of teaching for me!

Can never have a torch too long or welding leads too long. They might get to be a hassle to fool with but they sure are worth their weight in gold when you need them to reach!

I also have the HP1000, it’s been really good to me. I’m using the machine torch for CNC cutting. Still using the old style consumables though. I am concerned about the future availability of these parts. But I am retired now and it becomes more difficult to justify the cost of upgrading. I’ve seen the import parts on eBay. Has anyone tried them? I’m not looking to cut hypertherm out of any business, just pondering an alternative should the genuine parts dry up. Cheers!

why did you change it? I have a 600 that is acting like the work lead is not connected. I am happy to pay for a RT60 , but I won't be too happy if it doesn't fix it. please give me advice.

please tell me you are seeing a much better revenue stream from all the additional ads, before, after and interrupting. it would be a crime for YT to keep all that

@@jtkilroy two to start, one or two interrupting and one to close. I think they’ve publicly disclosed that they are monotizing(?) as they see fit, keeping ad revenue for selected channels
