Convert hypertherm duramax hand torch to machine torch

Спорт

You move pin 6 to 8. You will need a pin extractor. I used a Jorda R-5926 pin extractor 16-20 3”.

Could you leave the wire where it is in #6 and make a jumper from there to #8 with the correct pin to use the torch either way? (Hand or Machine)

I’m not certain on that one. My machine came with a standard torch and a gouging torch so I didn’t have to worry about it.

Tony this is my plan maybe with some switches. I need to get the old pin out and try to figure out where to get an identical one for the #8 hole.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I up in the air about buying the 45xp with 2 torches and make the 15 * like this to hook to my cnc and be still able to use the other torch for hand cutting!! Or by the 45xp with a machine torch which is close to the same price as this set up but you only get 1 torch! Sounds like this is the way to go! Did your machine come with a connector for the cpc port or do you have to buy that separately?

Great video! Do you use the machine torch consumables or just the regular hand torch consumables?

@@dave7203 regular consumables. Same as hand cutting EXCEPT the shield. You can any to get Mechanized shield instead of drag shield. Don’t use the drag shield, it will destroy your consumables . U will get a manual with the plasma cutter and it lays out the consumables needed really well and had cut charts. The only setting you will differ on is pierce delay. Is there also any way to straighten the torch in addition to rewiring it? aka to the "pencil" style?

So without the cnc port you still need to hard wire correct? Thanks

  • @cameronschwartz

Without CNC port you do need to hard wire to your plasma cutter. If you get a hypertherm 45xp without the CNC port you can easily add one to it and it would probably be less work or about the same as hard wiring. The mod in this video is only for the hand torch also. If you get a machine torch this mod is not needed.

@@cameronschwartz appreciate it man , I was thinking of getting the port add on but might wait until I get a machine torch, but running a hand torch I didn’t want to have to slice wires inside the cutter to void a warranty. I’ll keep looking into this, just getting mixed answers
