Before anyone reads my rant, I just went on amazon and ordered the exact same card he uses in this video. I had heard the radios are finnicky about what card to use. They'll be here tomorrow., now, on with my rant! The ONLY reason I'm doing this is because the speedometer on my DX5 Pro is WAYYY OFF! When the car's going about 10, it says it's going over 100. I saw one of the latest updates had some sort of fix for that, do here we go! Okay...the fun begins. First off, Mine didn't turn on when I put the card in. I put the card in, turned on the radio, and started to try to follow your steps. Click wheel did nothing, radio wouldn't even power down. Power switch did nothing. took the card out, nothing. Had to remove battery. Trying again...Saved the models to card as you said, put card in computer to save that data just cuz, and computer says card is empty. (I put off doing this EXACTLY cuz I KNEW it was gonna be a PITA!) Maybe third time'll be a charm? Nope..did the same steps, and still nothing on the card. Kind of don't really know where to turn to next. Maybe I'll just say a little prayer and try to DL the update from online to the card and then insert it in the radio. I hate this transmitter, BTW..Seems to be a stop gap unit till they come up with a nice touch screen one. I'm PRAYING there's one in the works, cuz this radio SUCKS! ugh!! I've been a big fan of Spektrum for over 10 years now, but they sure let me down with this radio.. will end my rant here... Well. went to the Spektrum site, logged in, found my already registered transmitter which I did when I bought it, downloaded the update, saved it to desktop, then dragged and dropped it to micro card. Computer still showed card as empty. Put it in the radio, turned it on, and radio just working as normal, didn't do anything or act like it was trying to upgrade. Went through the steps to get to the card again, in the options, selected "Update firmware", and I'm pretty sure it did nothing. (Have I mentioned I hate this radio?) Going to go and try it on my lil car and see what happens..BRB... No change.nothing. Tried renaming the file as you suggested, as mine only read "SPMTX", so tacked on the "SAX" after it and it still did nothing. I sure do miss actual people to talk to from Horizons help desk, doing this kind of crap via emails and all the back and forth is seriously annoying. (Have I mentioned I hate this radio?) At this point, I'm at a complete loss of what to do. Crazy thing is, when I went to copy the renamed file on to the card, it asked me if I wanted to overwrite what was there (Thos was on the computer) so "Something" is on the card, even though computer shows it as empty. Idunno Spektrum, I really hope you guys come out with a much better transmitter, and soon! PS, I also have an NX8 Air transmitter for my helis. That radio was a bit of a pain, but did work with the card I have now, so we'll see what happens. Nervous about that radio now too, as like I said, the card read as empty by my computer, yet I had put several helis and a couple planes on there, so who knows what happened to all that? Just as an added bonus, had to redo my password, for spektrum site, which in turn screwed up my password for Horizon site. I guess they're one and the same cuz new spektrum PW worked for Horizon site. What a serious PITA!

Thanks for the update! Will Spektrum produce a manual addendum to explain how to use the launch control feature? Thanks again!!

Okay, got my cards today. Good sign is it had a small progress bar for my only 4 models I have on the radio so far. The other card last night did not do that. Question: Your downloaded update has the "3" and "4" in the name, is that because you've done it a couple times? I noticed this at about 10:40, when you talk about renaming the file. I will do the same..working so far! My download also did not include the "SAX" at the end either. I added it, so let's see what happens. WELL! Hot diggity dog! I did have to go back to the card and select "Download update", but it seems to have worked! Went to "about" and saw I now have version 3.0! So, what that all boils down to is confirmation that the radio is super finnicky about what card you use! I hope this card also works with my NX-8 as well. Thanks for the tips! Now let's see if my speedometer reads right! lol fingers crossed!

Does this work on a DX5C? Mine is stuck on firmware 1.08 and doesn't seem to accept firmware update.

Same issue here, transmitter won't update. I know the card is good, I can put files on it and open/close them just fine on my laptop and on my GoPro. Card is formatted correctly (FAT32) and it is only a 32 mb size. Not happy and will return. I should have stuck with my FLySky GT5!

Hello Can I reset the settings of the DX5 Pro?

Well, after some tinkerin' around, nothing's changed. Speedometer still reads in the thousands of MPH (seriously, no exaggeration!) I suppose I need to do something about the rollout. Trying to get all the info on the 'home screen' I think is going to be a challenge. My age old DX3-S Had all the goods right there on the screen. A little speedometer, with max speed displayed, battery voltage, temp, and max temp displayed too if memory serves. I just wish I could get this new radio to work the way this 12 year old technology works! tried monkeyin' around in the telemetry section, to get speed instead of RPM, Which it displays now instead of speed, but one screen did show speed, just seems like a lot of thumb wheel scrolling to get the info you want, and when you're out bashing it up, who wants to have to scroll form screen to screen? I also don't see a max speed displayed anywhere either. I'm no slouch when it comes to this stuff, I'm a fairly quick study, but this dumb radio's driving me nuts! Will contact Horizon for rollout info and see if that changes anything, but still would like all this displayed on ONE screen..

Do I have to calibrate the TX in the calibrate option every time I turn it on to start running the rc?

No, once in a while is fine or if you notice some drift or if the channel is off center

Does the sd card have to be less than a class 6?

Where or when will I be able to register my DX6C? It's not listed on you pull down menu!!!!!

bought a brand new DX5 Pro and the firmware it came with was 1.09. I exported my models, upgraded the firmware, but when I go to import, it lets me choose the right files and seems to work but the models never show up in my model list. This worries me alot. I don't want to spend weeks and months fine tuning my vehicles only to upgrade and lose all my settings.

Try formatting the card and try again. Beyond that try importing from a different SD card and or try importing 1 file at a time. Hope that helps!

What class and card are you using I’ve tried a class 10 and a class 6 still doesn’t register a school card in the controller

What if I made a account but never received a email to access the account what can I do next

I just updated to the latest firmware and lost all my saved models😢

i saved my models to the sd card but they wont import back into the remote

And after ALLLLLL THAT... The newest update is for the Motocross bike. Wrecked a setup I had for one of my cars. Have to delete that car and make a new model. I don't have the Bike, and I don't want one. Thanks for all the unnecessary grief Spektrum. Hate this radio. Harummph!!
