    This was so helpful. I upgraded to this radio from the dx3. I am using the Spektrum radios for oval mudboss racing and upon upgrading I went from running 63 laps at my local track down to 59-60 laps, all because I really didn’t know how to set up the radio. After watching this video I feel confident I will be able to set up this radio much better now, and get myself back to my regular 63 laps, or maybe even better👍👍😁

    By far the best explanation I've seen yet to date on this transmitter. Thank you very much for covering almost all basic functions that the DX5C offers, cleared up alot of the confusion Ive experienced since I decided to make the transition from the many dedicated rtr radios I was using up until recently until converting the variety of different onroad/offroad rigs to operate solely on the DX5C/ dsm protocol and absolutely explained the somewhat overwhelming/poorly explained interface that spektrum designed great but failed to provide the proper instructions that certainly seems many users would greater benefit from if made available without contacting them directly. I myself have had some difficulty understanding the full extent to which this DX5C offers for such a large variety of different surface rc's although im much more confident that I'll be able to setup/tune/apply both optional as well as necessary settings to achieve better performance now in much less time thanks to you taking your time/knowledge to create such an informative"guide" in a way that has been more beneficial to me than any/all the rest(including spektrums own material). I appreciate your efforts to help all of us that haven't quite fully understood what the dx5c is infact capable of and how to properly implement these great features. Will be sure to share this with the many individuals that have had many questions that were addressed/answered here. Thanks again. 🍻

On my Travel at first my Servo Arms was turning my wheels way to far so I adjusted it so now they both turn about same, fixed that setting. Also, in my setting menu and where it says calibrate, I clicked it and I have for STEERING - OK / ? / ? and then for my TRIGGER is set at ? / ? / OK. I have a dx5c and a dx5 rugged. On both you can only adjust the brake rate thru the menu on a trim switch. The drag brake is only adjustable thru the ESC. Adjust the drag brake first on the ESC , then adjust your brake rates with the trim switch F on the remote. I am assuming that the 2 different radios had the brake rates adjusted differently from the factory. Hope this helps.😎🤙

  • @DirtSailor5

    Great series,. Quick AVC question. My RTR remote has a dedicated knob that probably controlled just the steering or priority. That's all I need. I would like to mimic that on the new remote. Should I assign the steering or priority to one of the trim buttons to replicate the AVC knob on my old remote.

  • @upgradedrc3697

    @upgradedrc3697

    3 жыл бұрын

    If thats how you want to use it, ya set the button for priority. I set up my AVC for each vehicle on the remote independently and then only adjust when nesecary. And for my e revo i'm running 30% on my steering only with a priority of 90%. So, its almost nothing. But it does help me come out of the corners straight and on point though. But. AVC is bad for jumping don't use very much cause it tries to correct your steering in the air and you wreck

    I just discovered a conundrum concerning the SPEKTRUM MANUAL'S instructions about the need to re-set your car receiver's BINDING whenever you re-set the STR TRAVEL. I race on an OVAL track where my optimal Steering TRAVEL is only 70%, so I set my STR TRAVEL at 70% and my RC CAR corners perfectly using a maximum of 70% Steering travel on every corner. Now the SPEKTRUM MANUAL says to make sure that the STR and THR travel are set at ≥ 80% for correct BINDING, but it also says that you must re-set your binding every time you re-set your TRAVEL. However, if that was completely true, then after correct binding, you could never re-set your STR TRAVEL back down to any value less than 80% (or 70%, in my case) without immediately losing your BINDING, which would force you to re-set the STR TRAVEL back to ≥ 80% just so you could RE-BIND again, but as soon as you would try to re-set your STR TRAVEL to 70% again, you would lose your binding. So if what the manual says is completely true, then you could never set your STR TRAVEL at 70% without immediately losing your binding. Thankfully, I have been able to set my STR TRAVEL back down to 70% every time without ever losing my binding at all, so the warning about having to re-bind whenever you re-set your travel must be mistaken.

    This depends on the light set you got and if it has a switch and or a battery with it. Normally you plug in your lights to an aux port on the receiver ans assign an aux switch to your lights. But different lights hook up different. Consult the instructions your light set came with or ask your local hobby shop that sells them.

    Thank you for the video! I recently bought a DX5R Pro and a SR6200A receiver to upgrade my E-revo. I still have issues getting it to work properly. One of the problems is the brake seems to be super lite even though I'm at 100%? What did you use when you bound the receiver ? Brake rate of 100 or 0? Also, when you installed the receiver in the box - was it perfectly flat w.r.t the ground? The e-revo has a sort of a tilt in the case. I'm wondering if that affects the giro... Thanks a lot

    No , it does not affect the gyro if it is not perfect. When you bind and calibrate be on a level flat surface and the reciever recognizes that it is level even though your reciever is not perfect.

    Kindly something else please regarding the AVC. Is it normal the I have to adjust it to about 12% otherwise the car want move in a straight line when accelerating if for example it is adjusted to 25% or more? Or do I need to recalibrate every time I change for example the expendential? Thanks

  • @upgradedrc3697

    @upgradedrc3697

    No, you don't need to recalibrate after using exponential. For AVC you have steering, throttle, and priority. I'm not sure which you are referring to, but you need to set it up for what you are trying to do. Steering adds more control for the cornering, throttle adds more control to the throttle, and priority gives you more control over both. The more AVC you add gives the radio more control and you less. The more priority you add gives you more control over the radio. I don't like to use it very often. With No AVC you have total control of your car. Definitely don't use it for jumping, you will wreck a lot more. And it has been ban from all sanctionrd events. But a good combo for it is 30% steering, 30% throttle, and 90% priority. This will give you more control when you are driving and 30% on steering and throttle when you let off the steering and throttle. Hope this helps, it really is all about what you like.

    Yes, open up the menu and select travel, then select throttle. After that select the rev ( which is usually labeled L or H ). Now take that parameter all the way down to 0 and leave the other one alone. You should now have 100% forward and 0% reverse. Hope this helped you out! 😎🤙

    The stock default button is B for the sreering trim. You can change this to any button that is not already assigned to something else. Adjust your steering trim one click at a time while driving slow in a straight line on flat ground. You will need about 30 feet. Hope this helps 😎👍🤙

  • @upgradedrc3697

    @upgradedrc3697

    I'm thinking Neg 2 would be pretty aggressive. Neg 4 might be to uncontrollable for the launch, but if you can control the launch then Neg 4 would be your best bet. I would also turn the throttle travel up to 150%. I don't know how you are stopping, but turn your brakes down or it will be a violent stop ending up in a crash. And if you can adjust the timing on your motor up to 6%. Hope this helps, you will have to play with these adjustments to dial it in for the way you drive. Also set up your suspension for stiff in the rear so it won't squat and aborb all the power on your launch. Front should be medium. 🤙
