This week we wanted to do a deep dive of closed loop hydraulic systems specifically.
How often do you find yourself working on a closed loop system? Do you know what they looked like?
To make sure everyone has a more basic understanding and then can go back and look at the more specific stuff with fresh eyes, here's a quick rundown of how closed loop systems look.

I appreciate that you make these videos. Hydraulic training that is straight forward is hard to find.
Thanks guys, that was really helpful
Just as long as you size the charge pump big enough to overcome the oil leaked from inefficiencies in the pump and motor and the flow robbed from the main loop through the hot oil shuttle. If you don't size the charge pump big enough to maintain proper charge pump pressure under all circumstances you risk tearing up the rotating group of the pump.
i love uvr job, good work brother
Actually on older equipment with one side of de loop in use, one direction running, filtration is pretty common on the return side since there are quick couplings in the system. Like vibro machinery.
thank you very much!
Brilliant Thank you
Thank you
Please What could be the issue when a shuttle valve pressure fluctuate between 200psi and 500 psi, for your information charge pump was adjusted 400psi and shuttle valve was adjusted 350psi, also I had replaced shuttle valve but still the same problem, I have doubt maybe one of 4 hydraulic motors failed, what do you think?
