they are so hight level striker that they adapted that technique but everybody has to pay if they do fundamental wrong like anderson and conor both knock down by fucking weresler (khabib, and chrish) and look jon jones he is a shitty boxer yet no one has ok his, he alway put his hand up

It's not an impossible style to use, also great example of a horrible example by name Conor. You could have said Roy Jones Jr. Anyway if you have faster reflexes and an know how to parry punches why waste energy holding your hands up especially when you cant bait someone into a dumb mistake? I used said style when McGregor was collecting welfare cheques. Just because you're incapable doesn't mean everyone else is. Can't wait for your reply with "lET mE SeE yOUr PrO fIGhTs" I'll you save you time, just because somebody isn't at the highest level of a particular talent/ability does not mean that they're incapable. I'd that was the case there's a multitude of people wasting their time and energy.

@@khabibistheking7686 You're clueless, McGregor only fared well against smaller people. He slipped right out of that windmill punch from the world class boxer known as the eagle eh? Silva on the other hand WAS slick with it until it became general arrogance instead of a baiting style. If you want legendary at slipping Loma, Roy Jones Jr, Izzy are all much better examples.
It's amazing how well he can articulate these things while giving out a demonstration at the same time.

Pretty good close guard and giving great pointers on how hand level affects things but different fighting techniques affects what guard will be most effective as well. Nonetheless that guard is pretty great and likely the most tried and true one out there
It's crazy how this video came out right on time. I recently boxed for the first time and I did terribly lol. I kept dropping my guard and wasn't exactly sure where to keep my hands, so this is really helpful. Thank you for all that you do, Shane!

Excellent!!! Thanks Shane! This is such a critical and essential lesson! I studied kung fu for 20 years. I'm 54. Now I just independently work out for health, fitness and to keep self defense ready. My security job does, more often than not, require me to subdue people. You are a great instructor and I'm implementing your tips into my work outs! THANKS!!! Kevin.

this is great thanks. You're a great teacher. Keep it up!
Great advice bro! I've been doing this for awhile now and it really does work!
Your videos are really outstanding. Very glad I found your channel!!!
I love all your videos I train with them in the gym❤️
This is a great BOXING guard for sure and is a sound overall guard. Be great to see a video explaining mma guard, thai guard and also the low, medium and high guards. They all have their place in combat sports and fights.
The way you articulated how this guard is used to block a variety of shots makes it so much less confusing, I’ve never had it explained so clearly
Love your videos bro Always humble and sensible advice Also dig your upload of your boxing match despite win or loss raw cut respect
Shane thank you for the drill i for sure will be using it
This video was very helpful and practical. I've been watching some of your other stuff too with heavy bag work and I love the great form I see. Subbed! 👊😁
This is a GREAT video for beginners. I hope all beginners watch this. I agree shane I use the same type of guard, I train Muay thai; I like keeping my hands at high cheek level just below the eyes, or on my forehead if Im expecting punches to come at my head or kicks. Had class last night in fact, 3 rounds of sparring against 3 different guys, it went great. My defense was esp good, and I worked my offense well BECAUSE of my good defense - prefer catching strikes on my guard and checking kicks with leg raise or my guard. My coach was my hardest fight last night, as always since hes the best in my gym. I recommend everyone use this type of guard, Ive been using it for years and its served me well, its great for defending quickly and efficiently, its not fancy but it works, and lets you counter quickly after blocking or covering or parrying or catching. Forearms/elbows rests on your body, they should be generally straight, protecting your face and body, tucked in.
I needed this video! Thanks!
Thank you Shane for the tips
Great video, really helpful 🙌🏻
i always wanted to fight like my coach josh wale(boxer) and with this video i managed to get a step closer to how he fights
