Thank you very much for this. My directions stated to do one or the other, but not both of these things to program and I'd almost given up after at least 30 minutes of hair pulling. After following these directions, it worked on the first attempt.

It works for a 2019 Equinox. You have to hold down the remote opener for a while at the same time as the programmable car button. First try I just pressed the remote while holding the car button. Didn’t work. As soon as I kept holding the remote button, all worked perfectly.

I have a 2013 Silverado 2500hd, when I try this all 3 lights stay lit on the homelink and does not go into pair mode at all any idea what is wrong or how to reset, it will not let me erase codes using 2 outside buttons

When I try to program second G door, I loose the pairing of the first switch I paired earlier. Pairiung was simple per your directions, problem was pairing second switch for second door???

The older HomeLink (2011 and older) won't work for Chamberlain, Lift Masters and Sears (Craftsman) openers. Chamberlain changed their security code in 2012. Gemie and the other brand should still work.

Security question. Say I pair with my truck. Which is a 2010 Chevy SilveRADO.... If someone broke into my truck outside of my house would they just press said buttons and it would open my garage door? Or does it have to be turned on?

Hi Mike: How can I program my neighborhood lift entry gate on a 2011 Chevy Traverse LT? Thank you.

How can I get it to pair with the garage if I don't have a "clicker" to pair it with? Our 2006 Yukon was easy to program to the garage door with no issues but haven't been able to get the new Traverse to work.

What can i do if the red button doesn't light up? Is there possibly a fuse that would need to be changed? We just purchased this vehicle used from a private party and the red light doesn't light up at all.

Tried with a Wayne Dalton Prodrive 2 car garage...was able to set door #1 but the other (#2) appears to have set but won't close (goes down about 2 ft then back up) as if the sensor is blocked (definitely not blocked and I cleaned the lenses and red light is solid when nothing blocks it) and the light clicks on/off about 15X then stops...tried adjusting the "travel Adjustment", no luck...won't work with original remotes either...worked fine for the last 6 yrs until I tried to program the chevy yesterday...Wayne Dalton no longer sells door openers and the help desk not helpful...any suggestions before I have to out lay $ and they fix it in 10 minutes... :-(

Make sure you hold down the button on the remote when programming. The garage door will open. Then continue with the steps

Hi Chevy Dude... I just bought a 2015 Chevy Equinox LT and my Universal Home Remote does NOT look like that. My head liner has buttons for opening/closing the sunroof, on/off for interior lighting and nothing shows 3 buttons to push. Seems like my salesman said something about the black pad that the mirror was mounted to, but gave no further instructions. Can you help me???

this only works on the new chevys....my 2011 Silverado has factory remote and it does not work with my new Garage door opener and only the 2015's do

What if I DONT have a button for my garage I just have a key pad outside my garage.

I have a dumb question, but here goes... Once you program the Universal Home Remote using your garage door clicker, does the clicker itself need to remain in the car or can you give it to another person to use in their car?

I wish it were that simple! I installed my first opener (have 2 doors) in the 90's, when I got my '06 Avalanche it paired pretty easily and has worked fine since. I just now put an opener on the 2nd door and it will not pair with one of the other buttons no matter what I do. Any ideas anyone? The first button for the 1st door still works fine but the 2nd button and door will not pair up.

You can program it using your existing garage door remote.
