Man! You play very well. I’ve been trying for a good while now. And not been successful. The way you break down and segment your videos with slow amd up to speed parts makes the difference for me. I’m now learning this song which a week ago I had all but given up on. Thanks a million bro and I wish you all the best with things to come. Glad the content has helped you out! I intend to do a lot more LOG and As I Lay Dying as time goes on for sure. I've only done one bury tomorrow song, and I've never heard of wage war but I'm always down to doing new stuff and adding more for bands that I barely have any tutorials for so I'll check them both out.

Wow this a great vid.. since Mike Mortons intro notes are picked , that’s a helluva lick. Is it best to practice with a netronome to get that speed of that intro lick. I can’t come close as every note is picked and I was just curious how to develop that speed
@MZguitar
Жыл бұрын
Hey man! Sorry for the late reply and thank you! I'm glad you liked the video. I don't know if you've decided on how to practice the lick in the time it took me to respond to this but I figure there's no harm in chipping in my 2 cents anyway. Regarding the intro, I'd recommend the metronome! An alternative would be to play along with the song slowed down and amp up the speed as you improve. However, the metronome is better as it allows you to clearly hear what you're playing. So if there's any sloppiness,string noise, or anything of the such, it'd be easy for you to pick that up early on and fix the problem. This lick is also pretty straight forward as it's all eighth notes, so it's relatively simple and easy to metronome.
Hi, that is a great tutorial. Is that a Jackson JS12 you’re playing there? Is it stock? It sounds brilliant!
@MZguitar
Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you like the tutorial! That is indeed a Jackson JS12. I'm not quite sure I understand what the term "stock" refers to. I understand that there is Stock A, B, and C but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to.

Hey man, thanks for the lesson. I cant get that clean metal distortion sound from my strat, what is your pedal set up? Thanks if you have a minute to reply!
@MZguitar
Жыл бұрын
Hey man! Sorry for the late reply. First up, I should mention that my set-up is all virtual! I get my tone through a software called Bias FX (First version). The rhythm tone I use (which is what I assume you mean), is actually a preset I downloaded off the tonecloud of the software I mentioned. You can see the virtual set-up in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fHmAscapgs7FYLQ.html It may be dysfunctional to mimic the exact set-up but it may give you some ideas if you're handy with gear. If not, the simplest way I can think of to get a similar sound, is to go for a scooped mids setting on your amp. You'll want the trebel and bass to be higher than the mids. From there, you can add some clean-up pedals such as a noise gate or a compressor if necessary. I also generally like the bridge pick-up for a crunchier sound.
@coreyallan-audiovideo
Жыл бұрын
@@MZguitar Damn thanks so much for the reply. So much great info there. Awesome, Thanks again man! I just got a catalyst line 6 and theres a pretty great hi-gain setting. going to try and scoop the mids like you say and get a more similar tone to your set up.
Just saw them a week ago with pantera…for some reason I had never heard this song (I’m a casual lamb of god listener 😂) been trying to get that opening riff down but it’s tricky lol it’s weird instead of just repeating it starts again the cuts itself off then starts again haha my poor brain 🤯😂
