Most New Orleans piano players that emerged since the 1950s owe a lot of their style to Professor Longhair. He was the primary pioneer of what we think of today as "New Orleans Piano". This lesson series will primarily focus on his style, with some references and examples drawn also from Fats Domino, Huey Piano Smith, and Champion Jack Dupree.

    One out of three, Migliazza. One out of three. To be truly effective as piano teaching, this video needs to come with a cup of coffee and a back rub. But you've got the piano part OK, so please carry on.

    Good afternoon Arthur Migliazza, i bought the pdf, printed it and study now the first Part. My question is if i must look here to see if next Part will be ready or i get a email message of it, in other words 'how is the communication in this matter to the clients' ?

    Thanks CW! All of the videos for the book are already finished. They are organized into playlists (a link to the playlist for each chapter is found at the top of each chapter in the book). You can also go to my channel and look under playlists. There should be a New Orleans section. All of the videos are grouped according to chapter. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help finding them.

    Hi Arthur , thank you very much for your lessons. Please, what do these 2 naturals (becuadros) mean in measure 9 , pag. 14 (Mardi Gras)

  • @thearthurmigliazza

    Hi Miki, thank you. The second natural is a typo.. it doesn't need to be there. It is just the same F7 chord for the entire measure. Same thing in measure 10.

    What fingering do you recommend for left hand these exercises

  • @thearthurmigliazza

    @thearthurmigliazza

    10 ай бұрын

    You can start with my fingering (as seen in the video, or if noted in the book) as a guide, and if something doesn't feel comfortable then use whatever fingers you like. I was never taught specific fingering from my teachers. Everyone always said "use what's comfortable". And for the most part I think that's the best advice.
