Inspired me a year after the release of this video. I set my timer 20 min and did as many as I could in groups of 10. I managed 160. Thank you and will incorporate these from now on.

I would love to do this but first I need to get strong enough to do a pushup. My noodly arms fail me
Today I tried the Busy Dad workout for the first time and completed 50 six counts. By the end of the workout I was hungry for more. I've been through a very long period without a proper workout routine, but the time for excuses is over. Today is Day 1.

I'm doing now like just over 12 months still I'm focus on perfecting more . The 6 count Burpees I do the two pump Push up. It look easy but after 10 minutes you start to feel it ha ha 🤣🤣🤣

Great video appreciate the direction and help in doing this correctly, I am recovering from Cervical spine surgery (5 levels fused C3 to C7)and it's been 3yrs since I have been able to even try one, I used to do 100 to 200 regular plank push ups a day, for most of my exercising, I am a retired L.E.O. upper body strength was very important and this surgery ended my career. 3yrs later and I am in horrible shape because healing and physical therapy was/is my only exercise. I saw 10 count Burpee video and no way could I do that. but your videos and direction has made me really want to try this. Because jogging is over with too. Left leg is a little lazy now. Upside is I can walk so I am very happy with that. Just to say I was able to do 2 4 count Burpees ,but very very poorly done and uncoordinated too, but it's a start. I'll let you know if I ever get passed 3 lololol Thanks again for the video, all the best to everyone.

Hey max! Not sure if you'll see this comment, but i wanted to reach out and say: A.) Absolutely love this program and these workouts. We have our first born coming in April, and I'm using this time to get into Busy Dad shape and build that routine. B.) I'd love your thoughts on how I can prevent knee pain during the exercises, specifically when bringing my knees in to stand up after the push up. I think I've got to stretch more and build my flexibility at the very least. Maybe you could do a video specifically on optimal foot placement during that part of the movement. C.) Would also love to learn about your nutrition regime =)). Thank you so much!

Where is the 6” jump and overhead hand clap? I was lead to believe this is how you finish a military burpee
Just found your channel…at 53 we look a like from the head up but I’ve got some work to do from the chin down 😂. Would love to know in addition to the burpees, how rigid is your nutrition/has it played any role in getting you the great gains that we can all physically see OR is your physique bc of burpees alone?
@busydadtraining
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input, my man! I do take nutrition seriously, though I'm not nearly as strict as I should be. On a good week, Monday to Friday is dialed in, the weekends are a bit of a write off. But I don't drink, which helps ENORMOUSLY. Check out the Nutrition playlist if you want to know more about my approach!
Question: Am I squatting down and up, or hinging down and up in the forward fold aspect of the movement [1 and 5 count]? I can't get clarity on this....
Interesting all the various 'counts' such as two pushup counts and wall-climber knee raises too. I'd imagine it's high-rep to increase volume to build muscle but at a slower rate than typical weight-based training as it's also taxing the cardiovascular system. Might be a good warm-up exercise though. Subscribed, Interesting to see how this can fit in with my mainly deadlift-focused training.
@busydadtraining
Жыл бұрын
Well put! I think this will beautifully complement a deadlift focused lifting program.
Counting as you do the burpees adds a whole new level of difficulty to the exercise.

Absolutely!
And how about an eight count movement, involving 7. a jump and 8. a clapping hands overhead ? Wouldn`t this be a lil more challenging ?
@busydadtraining
10 ай бұрын
That would definitely make the movement more challenging! But harder to scale for that reason. Here's my perspective m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/epef27l_YsXAoLA.html&pp=ygUVQnVzeSBkYWQgd2h5IG5vIGp1bXAg

What should i do if i can't reach the ground in the first mouvement. Is it bad that i sort of squat a bit in order to reach the ground before jumping into plank position?
@busydadtraining

No, that's fine! Keep going as you are. The squat gets you extra leg activation
I prefer the military/prison style burpees myself. But the crossfit burpee gets shit on more than it should. I know just the name crossfit in front if it makes it annoying. But its a terrific exercise for endurance and conditioning. Its meant to be done fast with no rest from the up and down position.

@djavidianmx1832 yes. And im just saying some shit on it. I never was accusing max of shitting on it. Imo they are both great for different reasons . Im a bjjer and i find the crossfit burpee for speed and reps really translates nicely to mma or wrestling bjj etc. But for strength overall conditioning and body toning, the 6 count is the bomb
Your next exercise will be six count Marine Corps Body Builders…I will count the cadence and you will count the repetitions…starting position…

I would recommend trying to get your sternum to touch the ground, not your upper chest.
I understand the effectiveness of the 6-count burpee. I am a hemo dialysis patient trying to regain muscle weight and overall bodyweight, but with my strict diet and the science of hemo dialysis, I'm stuck at my current weight despite getting stronger and I fear that if I do burpees, I will lose even more weight. Any suggestions, anyone??
