    I’m 63 and added a burpee routine first thing this morning. I thought I was in decent shape but I could only get out 6 decent burpees within 10 minutes. Haven’t done these in 40 years since I was in the military.

    This information is GOLD trust me . I've had life changing results in a matter of a couple of months . Information and the blueprint of what works for you is the most valuable information you can give and Max is sharing what worked for him . This is a potent formula and if you are building your reps inside the time frame you have a yard stick to measure improvement and you'll see the results no doubt. So I'd like to say thanks Max for sharing your wisdom it's made a massive difference to my training and my life .

    i'm retired so i don't generally have to fit my workout into a small window. but, i'm also 68 y/o and trying to achieve calisthenic skills along with maintaining cardio using burpees. i've found for me that excessive volume wears me out too much and there is a big strength component to skills. shorter burpee workouts help bridge that gap.

    Just tested in very comfortably to 1B. I really like the idea of this system. I have a slight concern about volume training, though. I'm 58 and in decent shape( if a bit battered in places). I wonder about the impact of the volume over time on knees. shoulders, wrists etc. Can you offer any reassurance?

  • @busydadtraining

    @busydadtraining

    Жыл бұрын

    Welcome, Patrick! I don't think you need to worry about joint issues. There is no jump, which spares the knees, and the weekly volume is low comparatively speaking. If you feel any wrist issues flaring up, fixes include wrist wraps, dumbbells or push up handles, or repping out on your knuckles. But most people don't have that issue.

    45 years old, only hiking with a backpack about once a week during the last two years - I'm fighting a retreating battle against lazyness, weight gains and age-related degradation here and want to come into a counter-offensive. So I started today with the burpees and was maaaybeee a liiitle bit too ambitious by believing I could do 20 minutes of Navy Seal Burpees. After doing 10 of these in good form I realized the push-ups were becoming sloppy during the 11th rep. So took 1 minute break, then I re-did from 11 with 6-counts and reached 20 until, again, the push-up form degraded and, with a humbled and heavy heart, I had to resort to the 4-count burpee for the remaining time doimng sets of 10, then 1 minute rest, next 10 etc. until the 20 minutes were over. Thus, in the end I even had 100 total (I know, not the most important thingfor beginners...) but these were of mixed difficulty. Is this a sensible way to go on? Like, stay with 20 minutes per day training time and keep on improving the ratio of full Navy Seals burpees to 6-counts to 4-counts until I can do Navy Seals burpees the whole 20 minutes through? Also, is 1 Minute of rest between sets of 10 a good start or is that too short/too long rest time? THX in advance for showing me the ropes!

  • @busydadtraining

    @busydadtraining

    Ай бұрын

    Good for you, sir. My advice going forward would be i) don't train for 20 minutes per day -- do four 20 min sessions per week. ii) train each movement for the whole 20 minutes -- just make the breaks as long as they need to be for you to continue to perform the movement with good form. Try 1 navy seal per minute and see if you can hold that pacing for 20 minutes. If not, drop back to one rep every 90 seconds.
