Tools List for Painting a Nursery:
Canvas drop cloth [amzn.to/2p1L5eM]
Angled paint brush [amzn.to/2nqiBLv]
Paint bucket [amzn.to/31QMNOK]
Paint roller [amzn.to/31Wloea]
Paint tray [amzn.to/2IvIe50]
Shopping List:
Zero VOC paint [amzn.to/2VlsFBN]
Lead test kit [amzn.to/31UFupl]
Painter’s tape [amzn.to/31UYqUP]
Steps:
1. In any house built before 1978, start by testing the room for lead paint. Use the kit and follow the instructions to determine if there is lead paint on the walls or on any painted trim.
2. Place the drop cloth on the floor and tape off the trim with painter’s tape to protect the room from paint splotches.
3. Cut around the ceiling, windows, trim and outlets with the 2” angled brush.
4. For the rest of the walls, switch to the roller.
5. Allow the paint to dry for about an hour and then apply a second coat using the same method.
6. With the paint still wet, remove the painter’s tape. Once the paint has dried, remove the drop cloths.
Resources:
Mauro painted the nursery using Natura Interior Paint [amzn.to/2VleOLX] by Benjamin Moore (www.benjaminmoore.com). The color is called “Antique Glass” in an eggshell finish. For any room, but especially a nursery, Mauro strongly recommends using zero VOC paint. It’s virtually odorless and doesn’t release any harmful chemicals as it dries.
To test the walls for lead paint, Mauro used the LeadCheck Swabs test kit [amzn.to/2ASJta5], manufactured by 3M (www.3m.com).
The other materials used for this project, including the paintbrushes, drop cloths, painters tape, and rags can all be found at home centers.

I would paint the trim around the window and the base white as well. Would look better.
Hi TOH , I'm glad that Mauro is part of the TOH team , he does a really nice job painting !!! 👍😃🛠
I think I want to paint all the wood trim white to get a better contrast and make it look more updated other than that great job
Love this channel
I have that same ceiling fan that I got from the house that's now demolished, except that it's black.
That ceiling fan is Hunter Infiniti.
ok i get the lead test but what would you do if there was lead? re drywall? or maybe just remove anything loose and a bunch of extra coats of paint?
She's so cute!
👍👍👍
But I wanted to see 'How to Paint a Dining Room.'
It is amazing how many poisonous chemicals are in products.
I like Mauro on the Ask TOH team but to have this segment take up one-third of the episode when everything that was done here has been done before.... It caused me to zone out.
What if there was lead, what would be next steps?
Forgot to test for asbestos in the ceiling, lol. Also forgot to paint the ceiling.
How is painting a nursery different than painting any other room? That trim is so outdated. Paint it.
Have you ever built a pole barn house
The pro got paint all over the ceiling lol
