They carry Reclaim in my local hardware store. My wife did our kitchen last year with Reclaim Paint and it still looks great. Also did an old dresser we had in storage and then sold it at a garage sale. Was so easy to use and now she's looking for more projects to do. She loves it and is talking about trying their counter top kit next. Keep you posted

I'll never understand why people want to paint beautiful wood cabinets just because they are a little dirty. To me no paint beats the beauty of wood. A good cleaning, lite sanding and lite finish in the dirty areas around the edges is all that's needed. Much less work, less expense, and much prettier than grey paint !

WAY MORE WORK but it keeps the character in the house. I like the paint too and maybe down the road she addresses the countertop and it will look excellent.

Jo Thomas Jo - They didn’t say they were doing the whole kitchen in this episode. If you want to get technical, they could change plug outlets, lights and whole new windows, a new granite countertop, new ceiling, doors, baseboard trim and insulate the walls to R20. Simple! Hope you are rich.

Bryan Wilson I didnt say that they did. Im not rich but i have eyes and can tell that just painting these kitchen cupboards and tiles doesnt improve this kitchen especially when the colour they chose doesn't complement the rest of what is left. The phrase "polishing a turd" comes to mind. How about you spend more time painting your beat up kitchen instead of ragging on at me about a harmless comment i made ages ago.

Epoxy resin is just Araldite, Araldite with a modified hardener. [GLUE]. of course it sticks to anything. Fats and grease excluded. That's why they cleaned everything first. Wink, Wink.....

I love these old cabinets. She should have just had them sanded down and restained the same color...then got a new countertop. That would have looked awesome. Or, she could have used a bar of dial soap and washed them. I did that to my Mom’s pine cabinets (1964) and they looked brand new. I saw that on an old episode of “How clean is Your House” and it worked.

I would be very skeptical of products like this. It's just like those "paint and primer in one", it's all marketing. There is no substitute for good prep, and old worn out cabinets should be sanded, defects filled and hardware replaced if you want to expect long lasting quality results. I will bet that tile paint flakes off within a year or two!

First of all, why so timid with the cleaning detergent? Gal, spray it on there and wipe it down like there's no tomorrow! Second, why didn't they sand the wooden surfaces before painting? The paint would stick much better with a nice little 240 grit sanding.

It looks like 1960? Not to mention the wood was very ugly. The paint looks great and a redone countertop would make most of you who dislike it be shocked with a marble countertop. It would make it even more attractive by a long shot.

Hmmm...The window frame stuck out after the cabinets and back splash were painted; it would look better if painted white. Counter top could be replaced with butcher block, to bring in some warmth that was lost when cabinets were painted.

What's with people choosing gray for their kitchen? It's like everyone seen this color being used a bit too much on those fixer uppers improvement shows. I think that grey color looks depressing. It looks like what people would see in a fixed income apartment complex.
