Paint expert Mauro Henrique shows a homeowner how to make the most of their natural light by varying paint concentrations to brighten a room with limited sunlight, reflecting light as needed throughout the space.
Where to find it?
Mauro suggests getting samples of your desired paint color in varying concentrations. You can paint colors at 75%, 50%, and 25% concentration. Before painting, prep the room by moving furniture to the middle of the room and covering it with plastic sheeting [homedepot.sjv.io/75PmmO]. Tape down flooring paper [homedepot.sjv.io/NkJD7b] to protect from paint spills. Use painter’s tape [homedepot.sjv.io/QyDOOz] along the ceiling and baseboards for crisp, clean lines.
An interior eggshell finish paint was used for this project.

Mauro is not the man when it comes to anything… He sickens me…
I wish they would have discussed in detail how the exposure (north, south, etc) changes the quality of the light and how it effects what colors you would choose.
I would change two more things. #1 Different shades, maybe something like frosted glass film. #2 Large mirror above the bookshelf.
I wouldn't have thought of this. Looks great!
The blue paint is darker than the original off white, and there's too much difference between the 2 sides.

Anything with an orange or yellow tint would have mimicked sunrise or sunset. I would paint the ceiling the same color too.

Turned out great, nice painting tips 😊
Cozy little apartment. Would love that.
Beautiiiful!!!🤗😎🤗😎
could've suggested putting some glass panes in the front door to bring in more light
To make the room brighter, change the door with some glass accents
I like this
I think if you are going to a lighter color, you should always prime. Any thoughts?

I bet youll see the divide line very soon because its impossible to paint 2 shades without a line showing . im hopeing she got the landlords permission before painting the walls because if its a rental and its done without the landlords consent trouble could be coming at move out time .

The paint computers have 10,000 colors in them. Find one you like instead of making up your own formula. Different bases have different formulas based on the color of the untinted base, you're not making "75%" in any way that's meaningful, and it won't match other products for trim etc.

The chosen color is the base color. The different formulas of various shades is to address the poor lighting in the room and therefore the visual affect that some walls are darker than others. The only way to address the problem with a single formula, would require bringing in an electrician and installing lights in the ceiling.
Paint job looks good - Paint color is god awful.
