Like many, I was inspired by Alex's videos and paid for the original assortment system. It worked well enough to organize my drawers, until I wanted to make some modifications. Without the source files, I spent hours looking for anything close to what I wanted on Printables, without success. This is the primary reason I switched to Gridfinity, and not looking back - you just can't compete with the variety contributed by the open-source community. P.S. if Alex made these compatible with the 42mm grid system, I wouldn’t mind paying for the models.
For the ziplock bag bins, you could add some springs to help push the spacer piece inside to the top.

Great ideas :)
Your original assortment system is what got me into 3D printing in the first place! Brilliantly simple design, well done.
I am using pretty much all your organizing boxes for years now, and I find the system extremely useful. All furniture that I make I size the drawers as a multiple of 55 x 55mm (the height is more flexible, and I have decided for 65mm for most). Anyone following your ideas for building a kitchen should think multiples of 40 x 40mm.
Sooooo much work, you are crazy, but in a good way. One thing I don't get: Why no Gridfinity?

The Gridfinity system from Zack Freedman was inspired by the original v1 of Alexandre's design. Zack properly attributed Alexandre's work, thankfully. They are both great systems and lots of work.

Where do you think gridfinity got the idea from? ;)
I think the best thing about IKEA is worldwide standardisation, especially when it comes to 3d printing it means that these can be used worldwide as long as there is an IKEA there
Mmm, gyroid infill. ❤ I'm using Gridfinity for my Ikea Alex drawers, turns out that its 42mm grid is perfect with just enough gap on the sides to avoid the screws in the drawer -- I printed a couple of 1.3mm spacer blocks to get the grid centered in the drawer to avoid the screws.
I would understand not going with gridfinity if you wanted to use a different pitch, but 40mm is so close to 42mm, might as well go with gridfinity

If he made it compatible with the Gridfinity standard, I would honestly consider buying these models.
I've just binge-watched most of your 3D printing projects yesterday and today (going to buy my first 3D printer :)). And now another new cool project! Keep up your awesome work!

love your content as a former woodworking student and current interior design Student. Your videos greatly inspire me to excel and innovate in my designs. Thank you for creating such fantastic videos that others can find inspiration and valuable learning from.
I thought nothing could get better than your workshop organization videos, but when you opened that spice drawer, my heart skipped a beat. 😍 Sooooooo satisfying to watch you organize your new kitchen.
Wow, I love all of these so much!! 😎 Impressive job Alex! I can imagine how much work you put into all iterations 👏
Oh my god, you unlocked a necessity in my head that I didn't have before. My life needs this now!
I'm simply amazed by your productivity in various areas such as design, production, video creation, and more. It's truly mind-boggling how efficiently you accomplish so much in such a short span of time.
This is so awesome. I’ve always wanted to 3D print a custom bin for my silverware drawer but 1 I don’t own a 3D printer, and 2 I have no idea how to design that stuff for a printer. You have inspired me to learn and get a printer.
I can't wait to have my own place someday. Your videos will come in handy for my house and shop. Love the hard work you put in these videos. Much love from Texas!
A great improvement for the bag boxes is, instead of spacers, is to have a spring-loaded bottom that will push the bags to the top. When you're low the bags are still accessible! There are paper towel dispensers that do this already with bi and tri-fold paper towels.
This really makes me think of the gridfinity
me and my wife with OCD watching this and soothing our souls ❤
lol! I just did the same using the gridfnity system on printables.... Wifey loves it!
My kitchen drawers are of a size where I end up having a half grid along a side, so I printed a number of the boxes that have the half spacing. They work great! One thing that I realized, though -- it would be awesome if all the boxes had half-size features on the bottom so that they would be able to slot into the grid on whole divisions or half divisions regardless of orientation. That way, if I ever want to use one of the bins I printed with a half-sized feature rotated 90°, it would still work fine.
I have to come say thank you! This is by far the best organizing bin system for kitchen i have seen. I also like the fact you went to ikea products because their availibility in huge amount of countries. I'm renoing my house about same as you and my kitchen cabinets were delivered this summer. I went for drawers as much as i could possibly fit, and now i have a perfect excuse to buy a 3d printer and your product files 😊
How come a freaking video of organizing drawers can be that interesting!! Dang! Great video! 😊
My dopamine is off the charts.
I don't think many people will recognize the amount of time and effort that you've put into making those files! Thats insanely cool and you should be incredibly proud of all of that hard work! Love your videos, thanks for making them

Not trying to revalue it but you can automate vast majority by using parametric design and some rules.

@@LMojzis With some organized work you can surely model all of the components within a week. Still, performing a parametric design will certainly save years of your life.
Why this over gridfinity?
Aren't you worried about bacteria growing in between the layer lines and then contaminating the utensils?
The king of organization. I use your system on both my workshop (woodworking and metalworking) and on my electronics workbench. Best 20 bucks I've ever spent.
Ughhh, was so happy I just finished printing the storage system for my workshop after a year of printing (over 2000 boxes!) and now I have to start this! Hahaha. Great, great stuff! And yeah the Bambu's are a total gamechanger. Have 12 of them working 24/7 for my business, haven't skipped a beat.
Hey... There is something called open scad that is a programmable cad language that allow you to create any variation on those boxes... I know it`s probblaby a lil off topic but would be a nice touch just input how many "squares" you want and the computer calculates it.
Thank you for providing such an incredibly well thought out design at a reasonable price. It's very clear a lot of time and effort went into creating this design.
I love watching the builds, but I extra love the organization videos
Was telling my wife yesterday that I wanted to get a 3D printer to organize our kitchen drawers because it would be cheaper than buying custom organizers. Now i see this! its go time!
Finally! I’ve been waiting for a new video lol. You’re literally the ONLY KZreadr that I actively search for to check when you release a new video.
The custom ones are the fun ones that make you see the possibilities! Can’t wait to finally get a 3D printer and make so many of your sorting boxes!
I've only just got a 3D printer and I love it, I've even managed to sell some stuff on eBay even though that was never my intention. We really are living in the future.
First of all, I love this video. I’ve discovered your channel with the home renovation videos. This is also one of them but I love the 3D printing Part. And I love the way you produce videos. I will definitely stick around for the videos after the renovations
the spice drawer right under the stove is such a flex
More boxes! I love it. I especially like the spice drawer inserts.
I secretly was hoping you adopted a 42x42mm grid to be cross compatible with a popular freely available grid based storage system. :D oh well
Absolutely a joy to watch! Amazing attention to detail😊
Great video, I'm so happy when you post content, I just realized that you are my favorite KZreadr :)
Oh my gosh i am so happy i found this video. I am about to install a new kitchen, these items are a dream come through
The spice drawer is awesome! Love the grid holder, too
The thing that’s missing is the box for foil or baking parchment with the tear off saw strip / clip on hacksaw bblade
thank you for making these and making a video about it, these are AMAZING
I bought your original storage designs but ended up switching to Gridfinity for exactly the reason that you just switched to the 40x40 grid -- it allowed for finer control over sizes. Now you've solved that, and so I've bought these as well. I think they may finally be the impetus I need to bring this kind of storage to my kitchen, and I like to support creative people like you who come up with these original ideas. I think this new smaller grid of yours is excellent and it's neat to see the evolutionary improvements in it compared to your original design. The half-space sizes and the filler pieces are especially good ideas.

WOW this is so impressive. THE TUPPERWARE! 🫡🏆
Mindblowingly awesome organising as always!
The spice jars don't actually seal very well, so some spices attract moisture. I've changed mine to some square jam jars, but maybe you can design a custom lid that actually seals the jars you use?

Love that you have a small socket wrench set, drill bits, and duct tape in you're kitchen drawer....
The Ziplock bag dispensers can be improved... make the filler block a flat piece and place a sponge cut to size under it to act like a spring.. will keep them pushed to the top of the dispenser
Amazing, have been waiting this for a while👍👍
Genius!! Definitely going to buy your plans to organise my kitchen 👍🏻
Yeah that's a pitch! Keep up your energy, huge respect for your work!
Cool idea for the Tupper ware and the spices man! Love it!

Okay, THAT was the last push I needed - I will buy a 3D Printer now!!! :'D
This is the most satisfying video i have ever seen.
just simply amazing work...
That's some top class organisation! I feel like a small plate at the bottom of the zip lock bags and some springs under it would go a long way, I sometimes struggle to get the last item out a box like that when it's all the way at the bottom. :)
WOW! HOW SATISFYING TO ORGANISE YOUR SPACE! WOAH!
That Tupperware storage is a billion dollar idea.
Your video are awesome. High energy! I have followed your remodel and I really enjoyed the entire trip. This one on your org system is awesome. Would like to see how you design a 3D object.
The spice drawer ..... just awesome!
ALCH defeated the Tupperware and spice drawers in one video? 🤯! Amazing!❤
If your new grid had been exactly half the size of the old grid, it would be compatible with the same boxes. Also, openscad would let people set their own dimensions when printing boxes and grids instead of having thousands of files.
I just love order. Amazing work.
K yeah these are amazing.... but at this point why not just join the Gridfinity movement you inspired bro... you're 40x40... so close to 42x42 which is gridfinity...
This was so satisfying to watch.
absolutely fantastic!
Super nice! Diy vacuum forming part of you're organisation system would be cool. Like print a master form the rest to it.
I can't believe you've actually solved the Tupperware drawer conundrum. Some things I've just assumed would never get resolved. :D
The ikea tupper fit was too satisfying
I find these tetris videos really entertaining and satisfying, man you have waaay too much fun with them 😂😂
The spice drawer is truly inspired.
Man... You're a frickin legend!
I had an organized kitchen once. One style of plates, one style of cups, one style of silverware... life was so simple and beautiful! Then I had kids... When they were super little there were all the random little kid bottles and stuff, which was a nightmare. Then they got older, and we have somehow accumulated all sorts of different styles of cups, bowls, silver and plastic ware, loads of different tupperware styles... its a mess lol. Probably another few years before we can have a unifed clean kitchen setup again. The biggest struggle though are mugs. We drink a lot of tea, coffee, coco, and heck I even drink water in a mug... so we have accumulated a wide varieity of mugs, and no 2 mugs have the same shape/profile, and all of them are from a trip, or milestone, or have some sort of memory attached to them. This is a glorious problem which isn't ever going away lol. Ultimately, I think we will need a hanging system to put them on a wall, or under shelves and/or cabinets or something. I mean they are functional mementos, so being out in a public viewing area isn't a problem as long as it is somewhat organized. Just need to find a system that works for them all.

All good and dandy until visitors take food home and/or you get food from them. At least that’s how i get my tupperwares mixed up :)
