Thank you, Vanessa!
one more best thing, after you done the 3d extrude, simply switch off the depth layer. reveal only the light layer and then rasterize it. it will produce more realistic instead of making mask on it.

This is completely amazing. I'm going to have to watch this again and practice it a few times, but this is going to be a big help. (Thank you!)
I actually started an old school notebook (like in pen and paper) where, time permitting, I jot down the techniques you show together with the tips, tricks. It helps me memorize stuff and I find it handy when trying to recreate some of the procedures you show. Photoshop Reference Manual is more like a tools inventory; you explain the way these tools may be handled and what we can build using them. Much appreciated every time!
Thank you Jesús. Yes I will. One of the things I've always struggled with is making the shadows look realistic. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks but I'm learning every day.
Yes, I will use this technique. Thanks! You are one of the Best Photoshop Educator on the planet. Maybe, the best because you method is always so concise.
very cool! I've been trying to figure out how to do shadows easily for ages, this is so helpful.
Yes, I will and thank you so much for your time teaching this tutorial!!!!!
Thank you so much I was struggling a lot with shadows and will surely give this one a try you explained it amazingly and understandably. You are just great
This is a great tutorial! I love the explanation of where you are going and what you are doing there. I also love the explanation of why you are doing what you are doing (i.e. why you're using the marquee tool before rendering the noisy shadow), as well as the comparison of commonly used techniques and the one that you are demonstrating. I used this technique in an illustration assignment in order to get a shadow shape that was being projected on the ground plane from an object that was suspended in the air. It kept the shadow shape in correct perspective as well. Thank you for this tutorial!
This was SO helpful and you explain the steps so clearly. Thank you so much
Yes I will!!! I used to always use the first technique, I'll be doing it the 3D way from now on! Thanks!
This is amazing. Thank you SO much. You explained everything so very clearly and it was very easy to follow along.
Hell yes, I will. I've been very interested in photo editing and now this will help to make my productions look way more realistic!! Thanks so much, Jesús!!

Your presentation is so awesome. Your smile, your positive attitude and way of explaining keeps us stick to you. Good job brother.
I'm a beginner, especially with CC. I've been using PS since version 4 with a 5-year break due to illness. I've tried several teachers on youtube and you are by far the best one I've found. I have watched 4 videos so far and with your techniques and explanations, my confidence level has greatly increased. Thank you so very much. In regards to a question on whether I prefer short tutorials vs the more lengthy ones, I choose the longer ones.
Yes I did follow your techniques and it was perfect, thank you for your instructions!
YES! I will definitely be using this technique!!! Thank you

Amazing tutorial! Thanks for the help
Great tutorial! I found out also that if you change the extrusion to 0 in the 3d section you don't need to line the 3d layer up with the regular layer. Just a small little benefit.
Thank you for sharing!
