Hello there, first time visit to your videos and have to say great job! Have you ever heard of the Tomberlin Golf Carts? They come stock at 25 mph, with the best 0-25 time in the industry standard. Also there’re other features not found in any other cart, that is hydraulic four wheel brakes, with drilled&slotted disks in front! Plus power steering, DOT safety glass windshield and wiper. Four wheel coilover adj suspension, that’s independent up front, with a trailing arm live axle, with what looks like the biggest AC motor I’ve seen, that’s actually rated at 17 hp! All powered by 8, 6 volt, deep cycle ,Trojan T 105 Lead Acid Batteries, with a 450 amp controller. I have no lift, but I do have 235/50-12 AT tires. There is also a speedometer and ordometer , that tells me I can cruise at 25 mph with just half peddle, but can squeeze 26-27 at times. I believe this is the only cart that could actually be fairly safe at speeds over 28 mph! Never mind 30 mph! I bought the cart in June 2018, that had just two warranty issues, one was a steering knuckle that had the splines strip, that was actually repaired at the Tomberlin Factory in Leesburg FL, after i trailered it up. I got a good look at the place and got to talk to the head tech and watch him work on my cart on a lift for a couple minutes, after everything was finished, I begged him to re-program my cart, but he told me he was legally bound not to! But did show me and let me ride the owners cart! That was the same model as mine an SS Coupe, 2 seat, but his was a wild electric green. That was the fastest cart I’ve ever driven! That could pop a wheelie and get up to 38 mph!! In under 8 seconds!!! All with the stock motor! The big part of the job was changing the gears! My wife has a 2018 Ez-Go TXT 72 Volt, that leaps off the line, ahead of mine, but as soon a she does I catch right up and walk away! Her cart will get to 25, but that’s it an at the floor! It would be cool to turn that one up, but with stock tires an mechanical rear brakes would be hairy! Take care good luck and have fun and stay safe and healthy!

Wow that’s amazing speeds! Love to get my 2018 Tomberlin SS Coupe 46v AC up over 30-35 mph, instead of the steady 25, to the occasional 27. My one serious question, have you added front brakes? Running up over 30 mph with only rear brakes seems a bit scary/dangerous. My Tomberlin has hydraulic brakes, drill/slotted rotors up front and drums in the rear. With stiff independent coil over front suspension and stiff coil over rear suspension, along with the 235/50-12 Blaze tires helps it handle like a go-cart, with absolutely no sway, I can even drift at times on concrete, in the dirt no problem.

Is there a way to adjust the threshold for ramping up regen? It seems like with my EZGO TXT throttle there are points as we try to slow down without stopping where it goes into this oscillation where regen is flipping between on and off causing an uncomfortable ride stutter. I own a Tesla and am very much used to single pedal driving but the regen is linear in feel and can be adjusted as the pedal is lifted increasing regen until its maxed when foot is fully off the throttle. It seems with the Navitas 5kw AC kit I put in my golf cart, regen is either on or off and not adjustable in-between. I can adjust the regen strength but it doesn't fix the oscillation between on and off. Increasing regen power just increases the discomfort. For now there are two options for a more comfortable ride, regen totally off on the controller, or totally lift off the throttle when driving to fully engage regen.

You made it look a lot easier than it was. Trying to shove all the larger components into the same little space didn't go so well, I had to do some extra drilling and cutting just to "mostly" get it all in but I wasn't able to secure it with a screw as it was before. Eff it, it's not going anywhere. Running the wires from the OTF on the dashboard to the panel behind the seat was left to my imagination so I just zip tied them best I could under the chassis. Maybe you ran yours under the floor mat? Did you mean to install your Navitas upside down? I mean, I installed mine with the words so you don't have to stand on your head to read them, not that anyone would ever see them but that changes all your connections 180 degrees. One of the supplied heavy duty cables was too short so I just drilled a hole out the back of the big plastic box holding all the brains and went straight to the motor. Lastly, did you take off the back of cart to remove and reinstall the motor? I don't have your big beefy arms, I had to lift it with straps while another person got it on the splined shaft. After much trial and much more error I managed to get it back together and it runs much better even before I have done the programming.

  • @Fentertainment

Lets see...... Majority of the plastic controller cover was already cut from when I installed the dc navitas before I switched to the ac. Pretty sure I ran my otf underneath the cart and ziptied the wires as high as I could. I removed the rear body of the cart for video purposes, and as far as the controller being installed upside down is probably due the time of day that I filmed this. I shot this video as 2:30 am during the summer. It was the best time for low humidity in this south carolina heat. I agree the motor is heavy but having the rear body and plastics removed sure helped out however it can be done by not doing that. Like I mentioned I did it for the best angles.

I was just going to buy some 2 gauge weld wire myself and crimp in my own terminals and shrink.
