Yes the templates are the first step to making something and I remember how hard it was to find templates when I started this hobby so I thought I'd help people by giving them for free. And thanks and good to hear you liked it!

This is perfect. I've been wanting to make a Faceplate/mask and this vid helped me understand how to approach it. The mask I'm making is simpler in concept. It's the fireworks mask from lotro

I just printed it and compared it to my original template and it prints out in right scale at least for me. And yeah it does fit for me, it's quite tight and there's no loose space though. But we all have have personal faces so you might need to print it in different size, hope it works

I'm happy to hear you liked it! The tool is "roper whitney hand punch no 5 jr". One of my best tools. Much faster than a drill and a bit more precise

could you make this from a lighter material like flashing to make the process easier for people with fewer tools?

I haven't tried, so I can't tell for sure, but I think you could. Flashing is basically thin metal so it behaves like the steel I used so why not.

What guage metal did you use on this one?

Mostly 1,25 mm, I'm not sure what gauge that is

how do you get it to stay on your face?

You can add pieces to the side for a headstrap as shown at the end of the video. Additionally you can place one on top too to make it more comfortable

I kinda made this lol it was difficult because i had to fit my beard in it so i had to scale up
