I am planning a weapon decoration project and your video was very inspirational. Thanks.
Very interesting video, but what is the metal used for the plate ? Is it Stainless steel, aluminium, zinc or any other stuff ?
It's basic mild steel, no coating
@@GarageKnight thx for the answer.
This is a really great effect. The spray paint is genius. I have a lazer cutter machine which I think might work on the spray paint (not sure) but I used tape before and had problems with residue which altered the look.
I like to have a axe you making. Let me have a price!
Vos soy un genio. Saludo desde Venezuela.
Excellent Craftsmanship
Excelente trabajo,muy bueno
What are the advantages to Stell and Aluminium would you say? Is there any other metals you work with. Sorry for all the comments, I just discovered your channel and I am binge watching all your videos because they are so enjoyable.
No problem I'm glad to answer and help out and nice to hear to hear you like my channel! I have worked mostly with steel and also with copper and brass. I have tried aluminium but it's pretty soft compared to steel. But it's also easier to work with, so it does have that advantage. Copper and brass are also more soft than steel, but not as soft as aluminium, and copper and brass make good decorative pieces!
@@GarageKnight Thanks for your comment! Do you treat the steel with anything to stop it corroding or do you buy it pre-treated?
@@XxKINGatLIFExX I use simple steel polishing paste to prevent corrosion, it also gives a nice shine. My builds haven't corrored at all, brass can get a bit darker, but you can polish it again anytime you want. Of course, if you use them outside and they get exposed to dirt and water, then you need to clean them. Many people who larp etc, use some kind of oil to keep the rust away. And I suggest you only use simple mild steel that hasn't been treated in any way. Some metals like zinc-plated steel will release toxic fumes if you heat treat them or might release small particles even from just hitting them with hammer. So always research the stuff you are going to use.
@@GarageKnight Thanks for your comment man! You've earned a life long subscriber here. Appreciate it!!
@@XxKINGatLIFExX thank you, glad to hear it!
Hello, a new subscriber here. I love these simple videos. Can you do more simple tips and tricks videos for beginners please? Keep them short because it will help us a lot. Thank you!
You earned a sub! great content, a few points for feedback which I think would help me enjoy the video better: 1 - Defintely show more footage of the final product. We want to see it, and they are worth showing off! 2 - Please could you use Google translate to help get a better translation, sometimes the text can be a little hard to make sense of. 3 - I would quickly list the materials and tools needed as it will help people get ready if they want to follow along. Either way, great videos and I love your relaxed and humble approach to it. Is great to see, keep up the great work and awesome designs!
That's great feedback, thank you! I did use google translate if I remember correctly, but since I don't know the languages I can't check if the translation is correct :) but I'll look into it and see what I can do
So is that copper you're using and those were rivets if I got those right
Yeah 1,25 mm copper and leather rivets
💪💯
Amazing
Thank you!
Did the Vikings use coal fired plants or hydroelectric dams to produce the electricity for their power tools?😃
I really need this. I'd be running bout like kratos
That's amazing, I'd love it to go wif my collection. How much $$$
This is awesome! I’m friends with Rory Ross who plays the covert Mandalorian, I wanted to make armor myself so things will fit correctly and I saw this video it’s amazing I’m telling Rory and Daniel about this they gonna love it as much as I do!!! After I make mine I’ll post a video so you can check it out!!!
Awesome to hear that! It's a great show, like a western mixed with Star Wars, really liked the it. Good luck with the project and I would really like to see the result when you finish it!
Thank you! The flat rivets you used where do I find them at?
@feracopictures9322 I got the rivets from a small online shop in Finland, I don't know if they ship abroad (nippelit.fi). They're also called "countersunk rivet" if that helps the search
@@GarageKnight thanks just was curious, I’m going to check my local hardware store and I did find two diff rivets on Amazon a copper one and screw on ones only reason I’ll use some screw ones is for a section where I’ll put some electronics to house in so I’ll be able to unscrew for maintenance or change batteries.
i need blouprint pls
Which dimensions were used
Love your works. Beautiful, realistic technically awesome pieces. I specially love Corinthian helmet (Ancient Greek hoplites). Would you be able to make one of them?🤩
This is such a good video. I really hope you make more videos some day
excellent
So is that a 1:5 salt water ratio and an equal amount vinegar to water?
To be cleat it's 1:5 salt to liquid ratio. Liquid can be water or vinegar or mix of those two. For some reason vinegar gets better results 4:07
EXCELENTE!!!!
What are the tools pictured? Not handheld, but the table tools?
How long did it take you to make? Do you think the armour is functional or is it more of a cosplay item?
Tens of hours but I can't remember the exact time since only worked few hours here and there. And it is functional and not just a cosplay piece since it works like the historical version did. But it doesn't of course offer the same kind of protection that you would get from some more advanced medieval armors.
Real beskar'gam are better
I am building your Great Helmet. It seems to work rather well. Thanks for the riveting video. I really missed that part in the Great Helmet videos.
Glad to hear the video helped! And good luck with your build
Kauanko kesti tehä?

Super dall'Italia da Castel beseno Trento
How much steel did you use i mean in foot x foot plz answer
Hey how to use the scale?
You should not need it. The templates should come out fine when you print it. The scale is there just in case, compare the scale with a ruler to check that it printed out correctly
Hey Good work 👍🏻, i wanted to ask you what kind of paint should i use cuz i can't find any alkyd spray paint in my country, there is only enamel and acrylic based spray paints , what should i do ?? i am so confused !!
WELL DONE...
Wouldn’t this cause the metal to get cold-worked and start to crack?
It's weaker of course than heat treated steel, but this is made from mild steel like some of early helmets and mild steel can't really be heat treated. It won't crack but it might bend.
=o
Good job! I see you know how to use your tools.
What is the material used?
VERY NICE !!!!!! now you have to make a samurai armor !!!!!
Existem fabricantes no Brasil, uma empresa que é especializada é Ibéria Espadas Militares de São Vicente SP, fazem armaduras reais para lutas
An exquisite piece there mate. You're a master.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that
The crazy thing is he cold smithed the entire thing
好漂亮
Great job, how long does it take to create this?
Thank you! Usually my projects take tens of hours. This one took propably about 50 hours, but I really can't remember anymore.
Dude, I'd be unwilling to use it in the field, yet it so deserves to live and be there. Nice work brother.
I wanna buy one
