How to make Aspire model for 3d Waving American Flag

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is how I made a 3d CNC model in Vectric Aspire for a Waving American Flag. This is a simplified version of what Aspire is capable of, but is how i made my flag.

Awesome, thanks for coming over....Yes, i"m working on a couple of possible 3d cuts for the future, they take a lot longer to program, and i"m just trying to stay ahead of orders!!!...Thanks for watching!!

Great design and info layout in Vetric. The problem I ran into when cutting on the machine was setting the Z height when second bit was inserted. The roughing pass lowered the material height so when the next bit was inserted and the Z=0 height was established it was based on the new top of the board. This was lower than what was set in the design so it cut in too deep. Lesson learned.

So how did you do it differently then? Where do you zero Z then if the whole thing was flatter after you changed bits? Thanks.

Brian, sometimes it is even more satisfying and educational watching how you program your project than it is watching the machine run. Thanks for this. Would love to see how you programmed the Jesus face on the cross.

Thank you! But I have problem and can't resolve it, can you help? When I sweep I keep getting new component that is from rail to rail (bigger than flag), not just over the flag. How to get to be just on the flag?

  • @SmokeysCNCWoodworks

On 3d stuff I generally zero the Z axis to a piece of wood the same thickness as I began with over to the side of the piece I'm working on, and the x and y i don't change...Thanks for watching!!

thanks for the video-- good work. Question: The field of stars does not appear to be even to me. The even number rows appear to be offset a bit to the right, or the odd numbered rows are offset to the left. Am I going blind? If my vision is OK, is this supposed to be offset?

If you're just wanting to get them straight for 2d, like you want to make a normal not wavy flag enter .585 under Row/Column where he did displacement of .75

Hello great video. That sign i texted you about my last name can you put 2019 on it and how much would it cost to make it and shipping it to me im in South Carolina... Ok I'll add the year to your order, I haven't designed it yet, I'm working my way down my list to your order do you have a shape preference? and a rough size? as for woods...mmmm..cedar weathers pretty good, or maybe oak..anything put outdoors is going to have to be sealed one way or the other by paint or poly..once I cnc on the wood, the grain is open to the elements...so did you want it stained or painted?.....Thanks for watching!

@@SmokeysCNCWoodworks Dang. I can't do deep cuts due to using BobsCNC. Usually have to do 0.025-0.05 depth per pass.. Made out of Balsa wood so it's not very rigid.
