God bless you! The devil will fight it. He will make you feel you cant go. Just put those feet in the car and turn it on and go. Do the best you can. The Lord knows you are human, nothing is too much for the Blood of The Lamb to forgive. Take heart. Know He Loves you. Maybe think of Him bloody on the cross gazing down upon you with Love that surpasses understanding. And know that we did that to Him. We crucified Him with our sins, even though He could have stopped it, He didn't, He did nothing wrong, but ahe dis it, because He Loves you! God is Love.

I'm preparing for a confession after 7 years away in confusion and pain. I am troubled due to abuse from my family, my mother and my grandmother. However, my mother did not abort me, she allowed me life and gave me to my grandmother. My grandmother abused me but she was the one that made sure I was baptized and attended the catholic school. She didn't follow the church's teaching due to her own history but I do recognize that this was one of the most important things that she for me. I will learn to deal with my anger and pain over my past through the grace of God and learn to pray for my abusers (most are dead now) who are either in hell or in purgatory. Please pray for me to make a good confession today. We Catholics are so blessed to have the holy sacrament of confession. God is good.

Save your breath. Instead go directly to God in prayer. He is just and will forgive you if you confess to Almighty God in the name of Jesus. John tells us we can approach the throne of grace boldly (without fear). God is your Holy Father. He loves you like no one else. What good earthly father would not forgive you if you confessed to something you’ve done and were truly sorry? He does not give penances. Jesus paid the price for sin once and for all. You do not need a priest for getting rid of sin. That is Old Testament. The New Testament opened the way to God himself. That is why he sent his Son so you could come to Him as adopted sons and daughters. There is no barrier between God and man anymore. That is why there is so much joy in the Lord.

Confessing anything to an unbiblical snooping priest ( the records of your 'confessions ' are saved by the priests ) is no where to be found in the Word of Almighty God. James 5 : 16 ( King James Bible) says we should confess our FAULTS to one another. The controlling perverts ( Proverbs 13 : 13 KJV ) in the vatican have changed the words of Almighty God. ( Deuteronomy 4 : 2, Revelation 22 : 18-19 KJV ) Revelation 20 : 15 ( KJV ) foretells their final destination.

@@michaelwachira8484 A protestant is a catholic ( protesting ) with issues to varying degrees regarding the satanic unbiblical doctrines of Rome. The Lord Jesus Christ didn't bring any " denominations " . They all practice the Roman wicked, satanic liturgies ( mass, forgiveness, tithes, et al ) so to speak. They've all been to Rome to kiss the antichrist's ring. You being a catholic can't understand salvation because you don't know whether you are saved or not. You don't have the indwelling Holy Ghost. You just hope you are. As for me, I just love the scriptures laid out in my King James Bible 1st century new testament along with the amazing Hebrew Masoretic texts which bring me the blessed foretelling of the Lord Jesus Christ et al. I keep well away from witchcraft, fairytales and Babylonian goddess worship ( catechism and apocrypha ). I love truth. I see how the Lord Jesus Christ identifies and destroys the Romish cult and all its followers in Revelation 17, 18 & 19 ( King James Bible). Heed His grave warning ( Revelation 18 : 4 KJV )

Jesus gave his Apostles the authority to forgive sins for a reason, and priests are the successors of their offices. If you claim that what I say is a "lie from my Church", then you also inadvertently claim that for 1500 years, Christendom have been wrong, *because for about 1500 years after Christ, there were ONLY Catholics around.* _(and Otrhodox, passed 1000 A.D)_ This claim of yours does not only sound ridiculous; it also portrays God as an incompetant for not being able to keep His Church in the Truth for more than a few decades. It would be far more *REALISTIC* (and Historical) to grasp that indeed, God kept his Church in the Truth this whole time... but a few heretics thought they were smarter than their superiors, and ended up in apostasy, coming-up with all sorts of new interpretations, creating a whole new vision of the Gospel (far more appealing and PERMISSIVE), just so it would all make sense *without a priesthood,* and *without a need to answer to anyone else than themselves.* I'll charitably say this to you: YOU should repent, because anyone who isn't living a good, pious catholic life right now *is in great spiritual danger.* If you die a heretic, your chances of getting in Heaven are near null.

Trust that the Holy Spirit guided you to what you needed to confess and trust that the all-merciful and loving God has given you His Grace in forgiveness. Grace is not dependent on mechanical correctness but on the unmerited favor God extends by the sacrament. Understanding the deeper theology of which Fr Ripperger explains only drives your understanding of the sacrament deeper and therefore drives deeper your experience of the tremendous forgiveness available to you. The main thing he is saying is get to the point. Don’t beat around the bush. Do an examination of conscience and state the sins and ask for forgiveness. Easy peasy.

Born & raised in N.O. rite, with closed door confessionals, this made me so nervous to be so out in the open, with the confession line just a few feet away. I know now this is the traditional way men make confession.

There is also *IMPERFECT CONTRITION* - - which is expressing contrition (not because you believe you’ve offended God) but because of other reasons (i.e. - you believe it’s wrong, you regret doing it, concern about the consequences, etc). It’s important to be honest and tell the priest if it’s *imperfect contrition* - - which is still helpful because (1) you’re being truthful, (2) it helps the priest understand where you are in your spiritual life / growth. (Many people - perhaps most - are initially more concerned with being punished themselves - before they even realize the idea of offending God. Just as children are more concerned with getting in trouble with their parents - before realizing that their parents could be upset by their actions.)

If there was some condition at the time of the marriage that prevented the marriage from being a sacrament, then an annulment can be given. If two people who had a valid sacramental marriage do go through with a civil divorce, they are still married in the eyes of God and of the Church and they cannot marry other people after their divorce.

I was away from the Church for many years. I could not find a Church offering confession. When I did it was an old confessional with two doors. I went in to find a priest sitting on a chair, and a second chair for me. I cannot describe the shock. ( My first thought was this is unsafe. I had not discovered the sexual problems but I felt uncomfortable) That was definitely not a good confession. I think the priest was confused as it was normal to him. The parish I attended offered confession once in the open. COVID was not long after and I had recourse to the internet and looking for Mass on line led me to the SSPX. Unfortunately are only in the big cities and not in line here. The found the Novus Ordo mass in the dark east for Sunday's. This led to my finding the SSPX and have heard Mass from Australia at 2am and the USA. in the mid afternoon 0 There is no Catholic Church where I live and at one stage a priest used to say mass in a private house Now the Catholics are going to the Protestant Church. The court is at the moment of death---"Settle with your opponent while on your way to court..." (Mt. 5:25). Court, in the passage refers not to the confessional, but to the Lord's Court of Justice that occurs at the end of or lives.
