So Cool! This quilt could actually be DONE IN A DAY. I was just surprised that by using a layer cake you were able to make that single block in less than 20 minutes. And when you only have to do 9 blocks, you could easily do a whole quilt top in just a single day!!! Thank You guys for helping us to make a quilt by using your awesome tutorials.

I did make the quilt top in less than a day after watching the original video years ago. At the time my son was into Star Wars and he calls the quilt “the tie fighter quilt” because the secondary block that emerges looked to him like the star ships in the movie! Kids look at the world differently!

I just finished my last star in my quilt the other day and am currently working on the rows. I watched Jenny's original video before, and while I worked on mine. One thing I discovered was to get everything to nest nicely, I pressed everything "to the dark side" by counting my light print as the "light" even with the white background. My light print meant pressing to the dark was pressing to the background. Everything nested nicely and made it a pleasure. Thank you, Jenny & Natalie for remaking this great quilt just as I'm making mine! And Jenny said, in the original video, that this was Natalie's " brainchild." Thanks for making videos that make quilting easy to learn and fun! I love them!

I got both sets - clearly perfect and block lock. It all seems to depend on my mood when I’m trimming, which one I use. I do tend to go to the clearly perfect a bit more but I use them both as well as a regular square ruler for larger blocks. Jenny said it perfectly, once you understand what’s going on it’s easy to use any tool.

This tutorial is so informational! It never occurred to me that the stars could be made in smaller pieces with HSTs. I pictured all the star pieces as being cut and sewn in one-piece parallelograms, like in a Lone Star pattern. The Lone Star quilt I made stretched on the bias and warped badly, so I'm not keen on making another star that way. Thank you for showing a simpler way to make a spectacular star quilt!
