Triple Play is a favorite tradition here at Missouri Star. Once a month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie each demonstrate their own, unique spin on a favorite block, technique, or template. In this episode, the talented Doan ladies show off three fabulous new Dashing Star, or LeMoyne star, quilt patterns.
Natalie's Scattered Shoofly Stars is a modern masterpiece with big lemons stars and decorative shoofly sashing. Her fabric is Daisy Fields 10" Stackers by Beverly McCullough of Flamingo Toes for Riley Blake.
Misty's Star Dancer features stars in two sizes. She whips up scores of itty-bitty stars using the easy 16 method for making speedy half-square triangles. Her fabric is the Country Rose Layer Cake by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics.
Jenny’s Scrappy Dashing Stars dazzles with intricate piecing, but it's all made with quick and easy strip sets. Her fabric is the Buttercup and Slate Jelly Roll by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics.

Love all three quilts, again! You girls never disappoint with your creative ideas. Natalie, love how you got a secondary block in your original block. Misty, you always put in a little block that just makes the quilt so much more interesting. Jenny, great jelly roll quilt.
This is my favorite Triple Play so far, because you all seemed in sync, and I love scrappy designs. Helpful to see two quilts made from squares and one from strips. The way Misty flipped and slid that little Lock Block gizmo around was like discovering how to solve a Rubik’s cube. And the cutting-three different ways to reach the desired outcome. Y’all, that is encouraging for us viewers as we adapt your lessons into our own skills. Thanks for all the smiles.

Natalie I love that quilt! The one you used two different colors for the star, if one color was very contrasting you could see a pinwheel! A whole new quilt! I see a dashing star quilt in my future. I love the baby blue and green combination! So many ideas! Endless!

Live your triple play, I'm mathematically challenged as well, my husband and daughter do all my math for me, I've always wanted to make a Lemoyne star but thought it would be too hard. This gives me courage. I just wait for the 3rd Friday of every month.
