The Doan family started a quilt company in Hamilton, MO, population 1,800. At first, it was a way to help pay the mortgage. But it quickly outgrew its original goal-in the last 10 years, it's become the biggest provider of quilting fabric in the world, a veritable global fabric empire with more than 400 employees and customers in dozens of countries. Along the way, they helped revitalize a town that had been left downtrodden after jobs had dried up.
