I have a back injury that took me away from sewing for a few years. I now have a pain psychologist that recommended that I set a 5 minute timer when I sit down to sew then take a break and lay down for 1/2 hour. I have put together 4 appliquéd quilt tops in the last 7 months starting off with 5 minutes and progressing slowly to 15 minutes. She proved to me that I could enjoy my hobby just in bite sized pieces 😊

I've been quilting about 4 years now and while I don't consider myself a beginner, beginner, I'm definitely not advanced. I learned to quilt from KZread videos. I very much appreciate Jenny and MSQ more generally for creating content for EVERYONE regardless of skill level. I also like these videos designated as "beginner" because I know going in that it's something in my wheel house. Quilt blocks can be deceptive, especially because MSQ makes many more accessible. But I like knowing, this is a thing I can do fairly quickly and I'm going to be confident.

This pattern is my first big quilt. I’m doing it with 5 rows across and 6 down. With a red and white (warm not cold undertone) theme. With a slightly creamier color with little red details as the center, red corners of the star and the background is the white (it has a design in it that’s called meander I think. It’s super cute). Just a timeless piece. I’ve got 3 squares done, the 4th is ready to be ironed and pieced together. Im so excited. ❤ Also, the border will be the same fabric as the center of the star.
