    Try to set a daily goal, instead of trying to get 25 or 30 an hour, if you can make anywhere from 150 to 200 a day, that's 750 for 5 days, or 1000 for 5 days. More if you work 6 or 7 days. But this is my goal, I don't try to worry about how much I make an hour which is usually around 20 to 30 an hour, just set a daily goal instead and try to beat it every day you decide to work

    The widget is still great, but I discovered for a brief few weeks, clicking on the order total would show the actual pay rather than just the guarantee. It was a beautiful couple of weeks before they took that away! Hopefully the widget is here to stay and IPhone users get it on their app as well. Great video Jake, the problems are many, great job looking for solutions, sharing and helping people.

So i park right on the boarder. I was the only driver and i got orders back to back.i can run that area without declains, pluse the people order $100-$200 of food. Plus these are the new neighborhoods built within the last year. All are prepaid orders. Thanks Jake my total $177 plus i hit the 15 orders and got the extra $15.

    While I'm sure there are markets where this strategy could work, it doesn't apply across the board. In my area people often don't tip by percentage, making it so $70-$120 orders only pay the guaranteed minimum due to customers leaving $3-$4 tips. Additionally, rejecting all small ticket orders in areas which see a lot of suburban orders means you'll spend 20-30 minutes not accepting any orders when that time could be spent making money. I could see this strategy working out if you're in a downtown area where a lot of businesses order in bulk for all the workers since those generally tip well, but in some areas those are few and far between if they occur at all during the day. Otherwise I just ignore the extra long drive orders since they kill a lot of lot of time not only getting there but then getting back to the restaurants to continue dashing. $500-$600 weeks working 5 days a week may not be $1000 but I've tried being extra picky and in my market it's just not plausible to make good money that way.

    I have started having that problem as well recently. I contacted them and was told in my market it is midnight, but it seems the early access people are taking every hour and then you have to be lucky and grab hours when they delete hours. Here is Doordash's response: We hear your feedback that it’s difficult to find slots to schedule a dash. We understand this is a frustrating experience.To accommodate your requests, we’ve made some big changes to the Dasher experience. Our new temporary Early Access scheduling allows top Dashers access to their schedule 6 days in advance and is active across the US and Canada. How it works: Schedules refresh every Friday and qualification lasts through the following Thursday at 3 PM (Dasher’s local time). For Dashers who don’t qualify you will see your Dasher schedule 5 days in advance beginning at 12 AM every day (Dasher’s local time). How to qualify: 1.Complete 20 DoorDash deliveries between 12 AM on the previous Friday and 11:59 PM on the previous Thursday. Example: To get Early Access for the week of May 10th, you must complete 20 deliveries between May 3rd-9th. OR 2.Complete at least 250 lifetime DoorDash deliveries. The above qualification standards are subject to change. We will send you an email and update our Early Access page. If you have any further questions, please reply back to this email.

    1000 dollars before deductions require you to do 20 deliveries a day 7 days a week at an avg of 7 dollars an offer. Or roughly 2.5 an hr. To get a true 1k after gas you would have to make around 1200. That means you would have to avg 25 orders a day worth 7 bucks on avg

  • @GigCoachJake

    @GigCoachJake

    5 жыл бұрын

    Why bother, when those deductions come back in the form of tax deductions at the end of the year, IF you’re tracking it properly! Considering I pay nothing on $50k annual earnings, I’d say getting anal and trying to factor all that is a waste. This video is simply to help people achieve higher goals, in a more efficient manner. Of course we could pick anything apart if we want to, but why bother? It’s simple content that almost anyone can comprehend and then apply. Getting into all the little details that many get lost in, isn’t worth the hassle. Just like the acronym says, K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid. I try to live my life by that and not worry about all the ridiculous crap that everyone else gets wrapped up in. Also, you’re speaking like you know everyone’s situation. I don’t spend more than $75 a week in gas, to make $1k. My car isn’t even super fuel efficient either, like many gig workers do have.

    That’s the problem, you’re not looking enough. That app and map should be open, because a spot will open up, and first come first serve. My maps almost always grey, and I hop on when it opens up briefly. Sometimes I’m too late and I keep watching. Being on the border of two zones helps as well. More options and higher probability.

    Based on Jake's rules, we can make it simpler. The amount you want you make per hour divided by the number of deliveries you can make in that time. For me, considering that there is a lot of traffic, long traffic lights, long wait times, and I drive mellow; 3 orders per hour is too ambitious; 2 is more achievable. I would be okay with $25/hour, more is better of course, but that is my minimum. That means 25/2 = $12.50 needs to be the average offer I'll accept.

I can make guaranteed $120 in 5 hours on amazon flex doing 2 routes where I would have to sift through orders and hope I was going to make good money on door dash. One point I havent heard yet is when you do choose and decide which orders to check aka cherry pick is "actual" hours....since I started deciding what orders were good for me I've noticed that if I look at the hours I've "been available" to accept an order compared to the "actual" hours worked there is a huge disparity....this needs to be addressed imo....just because I've logged into a gig app and have 8hrs logged available DOES NOT mean I have worked 8hrs....since I began choosing the orders I accept YES I spend more of my day on call but I also spend more of my time at other opportunities or just doing nothing it's all up to you

    There are too many merchants that mess up 20 minute for $8 ratios, in my opinion. Recommend only take them if they are not apartments, known fast merchants at less peak times, and are under 5 miles round trip. Preferably multi app...and only take 2 $10 to $12 orders. The worst is on GH... Their is a cultural subgroup that actually reverses a recommended tip, manually, to $0 ... It is pernicious. If more people reject, the purveyors will pay us more, as customers force their hand with cancelled and refunded orders. The biggest encumbrance beyond slow merchants, and bad traffic, are Snowflake Millenials, on the fourth floor, of Building F, in an Alphabet Soup, Stack n Pack Housing Project. Tell those kids to come outside, or the timer shall ensue.

    Oh, and get LESS pay on stacked offers? NOT A CHANCE!! I prefer higher payouts and less deliveries. For example, you have to run 3 Chipotle offers to make what I do in one delivery. Then, let’s discuss how your method doesn’t work in every market and for surely wouldn’t work whatsoever IF everyone was doing the same thing. DoorDash is now paying less on additional offers, like GH, and Postmates. I have plenty of people who have tried and tested these methods. They’re effective in MANY different scenarios, giving one a higher probability at winning.

So you trust and take that 2nd 6$ chipotle order only to find that after you already have it and you finish the first order that it an ADIITIONAL 9 miles trip!!! Yes.. ALL the time in this market.
