Waste not, want not tips: - Save pickle juice and add it to some mayo and ketchup for a little pickle flavor on the hot dogs and burgers. Pickle juice can also be used in a potato salad when you're out of pickles. Make refrigerator pickles from cucumbers, popsicles for the kids, add a cup to a crockpot pork roast, etc. It can be used as the vinegar in homemade drain cleaner with baking soda and salt. - Give the tuna liquid to your furbabies. - Save the corn liquid, broccoli liquid, lentil liquid and most all veggie liquids in a freezer container for soup stock. Yeah, not sauerkraut liquid! Save green pea liquid but use sparingly in most soups as it has a strong flavor but it can be frozen separately to use when making pea soup. Beet liquid can be added to baked goods and spinach/greens liquid can be added to crepes for a nice wrap for a little added nutrition. Mild veg liquids can be used as the liquid when making gravies and sauces - yes, it will change the flavor but it's still good. - If you happen to be using fresh corn, use the silk for tea, carefully remove the husks to dry for tamales and use the cobs for jelly or syrup. - When you are out of pinto, red bean and black beans the liquids can be cooked down to a thicker consistency for a side dish or fill a tortilla or top nachos. Bean liquids can be used in making meringue candy. - Roll some of the dough out, add any leftovers, roll up and cut into pinwheels. Top with butter and seasonings and bake, yum. - Do a search to find the proper way to heat eggshells to sterilize them (low heat in the oven). Ground them fine and you have human calcium supplement.

I love that you do the best you can with what you Have. If I can share a tip, try to look for meats, fresh vegetables and all foods actually that are on sale because they are nearing the sell by date, you can usually get them for a steal. Supermarkets usually put them out early in the morning this way the quality of your food is better.

I thought I knew how to make flour tortillas. But, I tried your method, especially using the right pan. I love that I can make 8 tortillas from 1 cup of flour. I added tomato sauce, chopped green onions and chopped fresh basil to the first batch. They came out great. So, I made another batch with half bread flour and half whole wheat flour. They came out great too. Been using these tortillas for everything. Thanks.

I purchase the whole hams at the holidays while they are under a $1 a pound, slice thin, and freeze for later use. I even cube some and freeze for soup, stews and casseroles. With all that said, that package is convenient. No doubt. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed watching your video and thank you for spending time to show people how to cost save in making the meals. I'm in my early 70's and had four medical problems before I retired. When I retired I decided to make a change in my eating, I started to read on healthy eating, watching KZread and putting my menu into place. I did eat like your video that you had shown us, by eating this way, I became unhealthy and my body retaliated and was on four different medications. After I retired I had time and planned my grocery list and a year later, I'm off all my meds and the doctor stated whatever I'm doing just keep it up. The only thing he suggested was to exercise. For example, you made a sandwich on white bread, cheap ham and cheese. I would of made it the same but would of added 80% of vegetables with it. All I have seen is a typical American food that is making the people very sick. Inflammation, arthritis, blood pressure, cholesterol and gaining weight is on the rise since peaple use cheese on everything, cheap majo, GMO corn in a can, bad oils. I did not see anything fresh, sorry, but I give you a thumbs down. It's only good for young healthy people and not for 65+ population. Noticed lots of salt!

My husband is carnivore dieting so mostly meat with eggs and I have a tick disease called alpha gal so no pork or beef or any mammal, only poultry and fish and I really am not in love with fish ha ha so we have adapted and found that snacks are the big cost that we gave up so much of. THAT and gardening has been the biggest helper to us. Even pots of cherry tomatoes and cucumbers save money and pots of lettuce and kale and mustard etc. two strawberry plants just keep multiplying and come back every year if you have even pots and no garden space.

A tip for a busy working person that grabs food at the last minute: when I had deli meat that needed used just take a loaf of bread, grab 2 slices, put meats and cheeses in (no mayo) and put in a sandwich ziplock. Continue for the ingredients on hand. Stack the sandwiches in the freezer for a super quick grab on your way to work. I hope this helps even one person 💖
