    Top tip, whenever you are messing around with the LCA, unbolt your headlight level sensor arm. Less chance of snapping it (pricey since you can't buy the arm separately).

    Great video showing how this works. As we get more into suspension mods for the R, this will be a good consideration if we replace the lower control arms. You know, “while we’re in there”.

    Appreciate this video! I am looking to get these on my 7R but didn't find too much info online. So, I take there's no cons to the kit especially for a streetcar? The slight additional camber is a plus to me and believe there's no NVH :)

    Eric Michel tires are flush with the fenders so pretty low but that will all change shortly when it gets corner balanced. Noticeable increase in front end grip on turn in and mid corner. It’s cheap and easy to do so highly recommend it. I have always done a roll centre kit on every one of my performance cars. It really makes it feel planted and less top heavy.

    hey mate, two years on, you still get asked questions about this : ) I've just ordered a set of these since I 'd like to change the geometry as I'm lowered on eibach sportline and have arms pointing up but I don't want to much negative chamber because I'm running a bit of an aggressive wheel setup 18x9 ET 37, so they have slight poke already, what is the MINIMUM negative camber increase I'll get if I slide the slotted ball joint housing all the way in (opposite to what you did) thanks heaps, as usual : ) overall I want to improve drivability but not make the car too much slower when launching it

    @@TheEddysGarage hey mate, sorry to bother but since I've installed these, it has been a hell of a journey. car was perfectly fine and straight after, but I took the advice to do a wheel alignment and took the car to three separate places in sydney and still can't get it to drive as straight as before. Am I right in thinking these should be set up evenly (all in or all out) and then the alignment being done after? Everywhere I took the car they used those to even out the camber on each side now the car pulls on a side, badly...Shall I make them even then take it for another wheel alignment? No one else seem to have an answer, so frustrating...

    victor chen Try reaching out to WhiteLine direct using Messenger via their Facebook page. That what I did and they added one to their online stock so I could pre-order it. 👍🏻 I have a very similar setup as @theEddy'sGarage since I have KW V2's Super Pro -2 degree camber strut mounts, and SuperPro sway bar end links and I feel my car needs bump-steer correction so I'm picking these up. I was hoping to install them BEFORE I swapped out my whole sub frame (Metal Golf R) for the aluminum Audi S3 one with SuperPro aluminum LCA's which I'm hoping to do next week. Now I have to get aligned twice. 👎🏻

  • @Kevin_MK7RSR
    @Kevin_MK7RSR4 жыл бұрын

    FYI, We seem to be on a very similar upgrade path so I'll share a little of my knowledge for the masses, I ordered these Whiteline ball joints, but they are on infinite back order so I decided to try the SuperPro Ball Joints... This was despite the fact that they are listed for MK5 + 6 only. The WL's which on their site say they fit MK5, 6, AND 7 are almost identical to SP's, so I figured I would give it a try. Long story short they fit! Supposedly they don't fit with SOME big brake kits. I don't have one on ATM so I'm ok. I do have a WP PRo BBK sitting here though, so I guess we'll see if I have fitment issues. I can't see how I will though because the SP's (and I'm almost certain) the OEM's have the same 2-3 millimeter distance from the backside of the ball joint to the backside of the dust shield, and my guess is WL's will be the same. The dust shield will be coming off anyway when the new rotors go on. I think the issue might not have actually been with the rotors, but the calipers, IDK for sure though. I do wonder if the stems on the WL's are longer though to push the LCAs down to help with roll center and reduce bump steer - Even more so thatn the SP's nevermind OEM. Here is a OEM ball joint Vs, SP ball joint comparison vid I posted up : kzread.info/dash/bejne/lqeNx4-ddLG3gJM.html And here is the end result of my Aluminum subframe upgrade + SP lower control arms + SP ball joint + Spullen pedulum mount + 034 60 durometer rubber Dog bone + Powerflex DB insert + Tyrolsport Deadset kit : kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqJ2mMenf6nIZag.html

    @@TheEddysGarage I wonder EXACTLY how it differs from the SuperPro's though. I guess I'll find out when I receive mine 😁 Regarding the Camber, IDK yet because I have yet to align the car. Just did the install last week, haven't been driving much because I need to fix one more thing before I get it aligned. I'll let you know as soon as it completed. But with the SP LCAs if I go max camber i should have 1/2 a degree more negative camber than you ended up with. Not sure I will though as that seems a bit extreme for a street car.
