    Thanks for your clear explanation in the stuff you do. I'm looking in to buying a Ducato van so al the information i can get is helpful. I'm gonna look at al your conversion videos to learn from. And in the meantime i have a lot of fun reading your funny remarks in between the serious stuff. Thanks again and I wish you both good luck.

    Hi Shawn, thank you 😁 We just used hammerite as it's a small surface to treat rather than bunting a specialist product. I was bricking it before chopping holes in our van too lol!! Just measure, measure, measure! Thank you for watching and good luck with your conversion, it's so worth all the hard work! 😁👍

    That is a beautifully fitted window. Your care, attention to detail and caution are exactly the reasons I find that females do a better job than males with our bish bosh it’ll be alright attitude😂😂. @@campervibe I'm pretty sure yours is 500x500. If it was, the hole size would be 499x499 and the total (outside) size 544x531. I think I'm going to buy the 500x350 model. I hope it won't be so small :S Thanks a lot! :D

    Looks great! I'm just about to put a window (500x450) in both back doors, did you use Sikaflex for sealing? If so, which one please? Not sure to use 221 or 512? :)

  • @campervibe

    @campervibe

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi, good luck with your window. To be honest I've used both in the past and never had any problems, I believe 221 is the more chosen as it is easier to remove later if needed as 521 is more of an adhesive, I suppose it depends if you need it to bond as well as seal. I've also used pu40 a lot, from toolstaion, I believe it's the same stuff just cheaper.

  • @campervibe

    @campervibe

    Hi John, we had one that rattled a bit, it's since broke and we had to tighten it up and bodge a repair and since then it has stopped. It was the blind part and not the fly net part.

    Hey Lou, just doing the same window (albeit the other side) I have exactly the same issue as you in that I had to rebate the frame to fit into the outer and inner skin, however although it sits flat top and bottom there is still a fairly big gap varying from ~2-4mm along the sides (Vans not being straight and all that), did you have this? and did it all come together when you screwed it all together? (Hope that all makes sense!!!) Cheers Tony

  • @campervibe

    @campervibe

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Tony, yeh it all pulled together pretty well, the seal will be between the window and the sealant on the outside so as long as that's all good you'll be fine. Mine bedded down really well once screwed together 👍

    Hi, I’m finding your videos really useful as I’m studying ready to convert a van (yet to buy). But I have a quick question. Is there a reason why you didn’t cut out the window from the inside? You had it marked up ready and I would have thought it would be better as the chippings would have fallen outside the van? But I’m a complete novice so I wondered if there was a different reason?

  • @campervibe

    @campervibe

    Hi ya, due to the double skin on the inside preventing the jigsaw from laying flat 😁👍 Glad the vids are useful to your research 😁

    Just at the point of installing the same rear window, and im just undecided what side to put it on. Just wondered if you had any experienced opinion on if its better to put it in one or the other. I was going to put it on the opposite side to you - as that is the side my head would be when i sleep, but im worried about that being the door that will be opened the most?

  • @campervibe

    @campervibe

    Hi, we generally open both doors, all the time, as how things are packed into the garage area so I wouldn't worry about that part, just make sure it's closed when you open and close the door. We put it that side as I where our head would be as well and it's great waking up and looking straight out the window 😁👍
