Great vid. Its good to finally know how easy that is. I have an 87 formula and the seats are o.k but I really want grey leather. I agree it was a steal for the set, normally you cant even get the rears for 100 so even reupholstering everything would prob still be cheaper. I actually dig the 3rd gen camaro seats stock too. They have a lot of design to them, much better than the plain jane firebirds. One thing about the seat belts. I might have just taken a sawzall or jigsaw and cut a thin notch in a part of the plastic loop. It would be something you would have to manipulate to get the belt in and out but it wouldn't come out on its own (kinda like a baby car seat). I don't think it would look off either if its done the same on both sides. Nice IROC btw. When I bought my car it was either a formula or an IROC. Hold on to that badboy, prices are starting to sky rocket as our cars become rarer and rarer, thanks and take care.

3rd and 4th gen seats and track are interchangeable. in my previous 87 LT1 raptorliner'd firebird i used 2dr sunfire seats on 4th gen fbody rails. everything bolted right in. i also had the 4th gen rear seats. i've been wanting to try cobalt SS seats on fbody tracks but i haven't tried yet.

MrJohn613 the cobalts seats would look good and i should have showed it in the video but the holes for the seat and the track did not line up at all it was like a 3 inch difference

Use the 4th gen tracks with the 4th generation seats. 4th gen rails bolt right in.

It's funny when people talk about the car losing value when you change out the original components. Guys, these care aren't worth much to the collector and probably never will. These cars are perfect the way they are because of the price you pay for them. But and it's a important point, being less expensive then a first or second gen means we can afford them. Another but is that they need upgrading. They're pretty low on power and the interior is a bit chincy. So don't worry about what people say. Go ahead and customize them for "you". When it comes time to sell them, just let people know what you've put into it and go from there. No one gets their money back on this kind of thing. Enjoy and let the nay sayers say what they want. Could you not have kept them power? Theres extra space in the fuse panel. I put GTA power seats in my Iroc. Just ran wires from fuse panel. Took half hour... I like the 4th gen seats! I might start looking for a clean set. Do you remember if they were from Camaro or Trans Am?

Very good but you never. Mentioned the clock in the console that only came with the custom deluxe interior and none of those cars you showed had a clock in the console order mine in 84 still have it and that clock in the console is very rare great job on your video 3rd generation is a great car

Why...??? If you don't like the 3rd Gen seat design, just get Riccarro seats. I havecac3td Gen Firebird. I had always believed(& still do), the the 3rd Gen seat design was kind of "cheap/chincy" looking. If I decide to get different seats, I'll justvgetca Riccarro upgrade. I won't even begin to mess around trying to fit 4th gen seats into a 3rd Gen body.

You Wasted money and time….better to recover existing seats with new faberic….leather from JF leather…in England has excellent product And you diminished the value of your car by removing the power seats….

@@rueben44 yea that’s right….just keep on bringing the value of IROC’S down….mine will be worth all the much more…. Original IROC’S are getting more and more rare… Oh and yea…..the argument that it’s his right to do as he pleases…..now that’s a reason to decrease the value of something.
