How so any specific info I need to know.. pops has a 2003 dodge ram 1500.. man and I haven't seen any seats I like just yet..m thought you could only do it for that year... Am in Florida. Where is it possible to get a cars more leg room..

Also the seats for the crew cab are longer than they are for the quad cab. But nice job though.

Nice! Especially like the additional cup holders on the front and back center "jump seats". Now I'm thinking about swapping mine out. One potential snag... did dodge not offer a storage bin on the lower half of the jump seat on the 4th Gen? Not sure I wanna give up that extra storage. Hmm... would be awesome if the top half of that 4th Gen console could be removed and bolted onto the bottom half of the 3rd Gen's jump seat hinge mechanism(?)

The 4th gen has storage in the lower. Just did mine today

Does the console juat bolt in or did you have to modify the floor or bracket?

You can hook up the heated seat to the factory harness The harness is already there in the the dash - if you look underneath the driver side Stairwell column and look by the Emergency breaks your have 2 wires they are not run to anything you just run those 2 wires down to the heated seats and then your have your factory heated seat and you can control those seats up by the dashed by the radio I hook mine up and they work great

Zachery Wilson mine a 2007 most of dodge will put the dash harness with the heated switch plug just pull out the center bezel and look if it has them just buy the wire diagram and hook it up underneath the dash not hard

Front seats will bolt in but the console needs a new hole drilled. I never bothered to drill the extra hole for the console or install the middle seat belt cause nobody rides there...

I have 2019 Laramie seats going into a 2009 3500 have to make a couple adjustments tho.

Been wanting to swap my stock 03 3rd Gen (5.9 SLT) rear seats for a set of rear seats w/the fold down center arm rest for years...!...anyone happen to know which years (after 03) had the folding center arm rest that will fit an 03 5.9 SLT(?)

Crew cab seats are freaking huge. The 4th gen quad cab seats would definitely work better but you can't get them in leather. So the way to go about this is to get a set of cheap 4th gen quad cab cloth seats and send them in to get converted to leather and heated/cooled.

This is a solid idea! Especially for folks that also may want the solid fold bench over the 40/60 split. The solid bench is also only available in cloth. If you end up doing this, let me know what the price is and how the product turned out.

Nice job! Are you going to make a video of how you found which green wire you used for the heat. No one has been able to use the factory heat in these seats. It would be much appreciated. and the fan for the seat. I am working on the same thing in my 03 ram. I an working on a gig to mount the center console from a 14 ram. I would love to have the fan and heat working. I also am running a USB cable from the center console to behind my radio.

+mitsnfect I just unzipped the seat cover on the side of back of seat and unclipped from the bottom enough to get my hand up in the seat on the bottom and the back to feel the 2 wires coming off each heat pad and traced them back. the lower seat pad is grounded on 1 wire the other runs to the back of seat heat pad connecting them in series, then the final wire off of the back heat pad is the green wire you connect power to. Im still working on a resistor of the right size and wattage to wire in to make the heat work on a low setting, so right now i just have high heat. might make another video if i ever find a resistor that works properly. as for the fan just find the plug where the wires plug into the fan motor, just a small 2 wire plug trace wires back for enough to have room to cut them, connect one to hot and one to ground, if it doesn't run reverse wires around, fan motor will only run one way is what i found. i just put it on a toggle switch but you could put a high low switch with a resistor in low side to make it 2 speed if you wanted to get fancy with it, or a rheostat.

Please make a video and I'll be watching. So do you think 1 resistor will make both hi and low heat settings work?

+mitsnfect I didn't bother with the usb, looked like more trouble than worth lol. but if you have a 3 position switch for seat heater just connect seat heater wire which ever position you want to be high heat, that will apply 12v to seat heater now on the low position on switch you will need a resistor, so that when the switch is flipped to low, current has to go through resistor to reach seat heater wire, giving you a low heat. I have not found a resistor of correct ohm and wattage to do this yet. I tried a few and they were to small so they got to hot, still working on it. so for now I just turn switch on high and after a few minutes turn it off. so if you just wanted high heat just hook a normall toggle switch up and you will be good to go, much better than no heat.

My 08 the lower center seat has a cubby so all I swapped was the back rest to gain the cup holders. The tops swap right over, very easy.

We're could I buy that plastic mole that has the controls for the seat at .

Do you have instructions on harness adapter, or wiring to get the power seats working? I have those same seats for a 2008 Ram 1500 Quad (manual seats) and will have to make the same mods for the rear seats as you did. I can get air and head instructions later, I just want to get the power seats working first.

I am putting 2015 leather seats in my 2011 ram 1500 and all my electronic system lights on my dash came on. (Airbags, windshield wipers, traction control, engine light, no rpms, no speedometer, etc.) They all came on but truck runs fine. I just hooked the seat up. I haven't hot-wired anything yet. But if I unplug it and wire the power to the seats, will the lights go off? Or do I need to get to the dealership and get it flashed??

Did you ever figure this out? I have a 2011 Ram 1500 and I am looking for a power seat, preferably from a newer truck. Did the newer seat bolt right in without modification?

How did you deal with airbag? That is my issue trying to put 2012 seats in a 2013 truck.

The air bags were removed from the2015 seats when I got them and 2007 trucks didn't have air bags in the factory seats so there was nothing to hook up.

I want to do this but think I will leave the factory back seat in. 4th Gen rear seats seems like they take to much room up in our trucks. Maybe just have the leather dyed black.

Thats because you need to get rear leather seats from a 4th gen QUAD cab. The guy in this video got the seats from a crew cab it looks like which is why they are much bigger. Quad Cab seats are perfect fit for the older 4 door rams.

were those seats out of a 1500?

Where did you attach the seat belt? The 4th gen seat doesn't have the same mounting point on the seat as 3rd gen.

Drivers and passenger was the same I think and I left the middle seat belt out. I was gonna go back and drill for the middle seat but never did, no one rides there anyway.

Just ordered up larmie 2017 black leather seats for my 2007.5 dodge SLT mega mega cab 6 door truck, i've switched seats before so i'm not too concerned with the initial wiring for moving them forward back up and down, my main questions are what do i need to do to get heat and cold to work on the new seat. My original seats did not come with heat and cold options so i'm 99% sure there is no wires provided for the hot and cold option. Can you tell me what i need as far as material, wiring ect.. i'm not an electrician so any help. I want the heat and cold to work on both front and middle rows the back row in the mega mega X2 is just typical back seats so no wires needed. Thanks for any help on material specifics on how you got it done for heat and cold.

just have to sort through and find the wires for the heat pads and the cooling fan. I was not able to get the low heat to work satisfactory, so I just have high heat and cool If I were to do it over again I would use a standard heated seat switch which has a high and low position, and use one position for heat and the other for cool, instead of seperate switches like i did. But all you need is a fused hot wire from somewhere think i used the same wire for the power seat function tied into it ran it to the dash to the switch and back to the heat pad in the seat, same with the cooling fan.

Man these seats are hard to source. Gotta jump on the reasonable priced ones. Or over pay for rough ones. Did you try it with original console? Mines a manual trans even harder to find a manual console

Didn't try it with original console. My console looked pretty bad from laying my arm on it. This video was done several years ago so I don't remember much details, but yeah these seats are hard to find in good shape.

I already had power drivers seat so all i did was extend the wires over to the other seat.

Any look I also want to get upgrades to a 2003 dodge ram 1599 quad cab normal front doors but the back is a bit less legroom isn't a totally full 4 door. I could care less about the price but as long they are legit I wouldn't mind... I actually just think I'll invest into it.. since I already know how to do all the work on it.

Do you remember what color of the wire was the one for the seat cooling?

You'll need to get creative with how things mount and prepare to cut up the dash. It should work but you'll need the patience of a saint to make it look good.

What size resistor did you use on the low heat setting?

ebay, yes they are expensive, and hard to find in good shape, they are way nicer than what came in these trucks though

What about the srs airbags. Did you disable them or just running them without power?

I know this is real late but I put the cloth seats from a 2017 ram 2500 in my 05 1500. Front seats are direct bolt on. The middle jump seat/center console I needed to drill new holes for. The rear seats I also needed to drill holes for. Wasn’t very complex though. Got it done in a day. I will say though, the seats I got were for a crew cab truck and there is hardly any leg room in the back because I have the quad cab. But they look nice and fit short people lol

Yep never could get the low heat to work properly. High works good though hooked straight to 12v. It gets pretty warm after 15-20 min then I just turn the switch off. It's a switched power source that way if you forget and leave the switch on. So when I turn the ignition off it kills power to it

So I fixed that problem, but now only my airbag light is on and my seat belt light is on... how do I turn them off?

So I traced the two wires in the seat all the way up to the seatbelt, and cut them at the end of the harness. I had wiring diagrams, but luckily I took a shot and had the same colored wires going to the dash, so I cut those as well. I connected the same color wires together and BOOM! All done! They work perfect and haven't had a problem yet!!

i believe mine were both white with a different color stripe going down each...one green and one may have been blue.

That's it. I mean mine had two of those that were connected to the seat belt, but I connected that with the same color wire coming form the dash.

How do i make the seat belt bell stop ringing every few seconds!? I already grounded it and same issue, anyone else had the same issue?

Where did you mount the drivers seat belt to? Passenger bolted back on the deat drivers doesnt have a spot for it
