Hey Daric. Being an 'ear' player, I've used some of the modes you demonstrated in worship music, but I never knew what the heck I was playing. But I will tell you one thing - my brain exploded when you kicked in that envelope filter. Thank you for the tips of focusing on the 'shapes' which is the only thing I've been able to truly relate to in your lesson - and the thumb / forefinger thing (great for palm muting). Beautiful!

i always feel the stuff you teach and i play in my mind and heart and know what it should sound like and want to fill in the spaces. in my heart i play in the colours you teach. i dont actually play any instrument but my hands and heart have a mind of their own and displays the movements while my heart hears the sounds that shouldbe there. does your dog pal sing when you play. i love how he is your pal when you play. seem he loves it.

Super Cool! Technically though, Ab would be the bb7. The natural 6 is G#. Semantics maybe, but especially as we have an A natural in the scale (the b7), G# keeps things straight. B, C#, D, E, F#, G#, A.

How are you adding the "outside notes". When you started demonstrating the scale it sounded like you added outside color tones, like the major third, the sharp 4, etc... Interested in your approach here. Thanks!

I don’t get it? That D# in the bassline doesn’t belong in the B Dorian scale? You start off by talking about Dorian and then immediately throw down a bassline that isn’t in Dorian. Quite confusing for your less experienced viewers?

Why does everyone say “D Dorian”? Dorian doesn’t always have to be over D. Does it? I find this confusing. I never hear anyone saying “L Locrian”. If your in E is wouldn’t It be F# Dorian? The modes, man. None of that stuff makes senses.

In most of the examples you find, they teach in the key of C. D Dorian is related to the key of C. So yes in E major, it would be F# Dorian.
