Thank you so much for this excellent and to the point tutorial. My PS2 instructions make no mention of whether to use speaker cables or guitar cables. You cleared that right up. Very good tutorial and I subscribe to your channel.

I've been trying to run an FM3 into the Fryette power station. It's hard to get enough signal into the power station from the FM3 ( I think thats because i need another preamp? )

Hi! Very helpful video. I have one head amplifier connected to a 2x12 cab and a fender twin reverb. Was thinking of a way to be able to have the PS2 connected to either the amp head or the fender at anytime. Any ideas?

Maybe you can clear something up for me. What is the reason behind doing this? If you already have a 100 watt amp head and a 4x12 cab and it already has an Fx loop built in to the amp head, what is the reason? I understand if you are using this to power maybe 2 separate stereo channels for W/D/W setup but why do this with just the amp and cab? What is the reasoning/benefit?

Great video, I know it been up a while but I just checked it out. Question, will this handle a 100 watt head amp? Or would I need to move up to the PS100? Also, the effects loop when you run a couple of boxes through is it ready to be used or is there a switch that needs to be made to get them engaged? Sorry if it seems if these are dumb questions.

Hey Chris! Great video... question for you. I bought a PS-100. I connected my Vibro King Fender combo amp's "Main Speaker" out to the PS100's "Amp In" jack via a speaker cable. Then, to come out of the PS-100, I plugged in a speaker cable into my PS-100's "SPKR Out" jack. This went into a double-sided adapter (female on both sides). Then, out of the other side of the adapter, I plugged in the speaker cable that ran to my fender amp's speakers. Now my fender amp doesn't work!!! What did I do wrong??! THANK YOU SO MUCH

Nice vid.. people dont give as much thought to HOOKING THINGS UP PROPERLY.. and things to watch for.. One note as i have a PS-2 .. I hooked up my Splawn Quickrod to tame the beast and accidentally knocked off the ground lift button and she was squealing like a stuck pig.. I thought i blew a tube at first until I pressed the ground lift once again and she was dead quiet.. I have perhaps too many things plugged in to my circuit and caused a ground loop.. happy that was the issue.. wont happen to everyone for sure..

Hi, thanks for checking out the video. I believe the only way you can do this is, plug into your cab - turn down the volume on the front and use the Line out on the back (and the line out volume to moderate this) to go out to an interface (I assume this is what you mean to do). Does that help at all?

Does your Fryette Power Station make any fan noise? The amp I am using an amp that has a fan that makes a too loud noise for playing at a lower level at home. I have a separate pre amp I use for my clean tone/pedal platform (Mesa Formula Pre) and am looking for another power amp (or maybe going with a Two Notes CAB M+). Thanks Chris!

Thanks, Chris. So I have an old AC30 that doesn't have an effects loop or a speaker send. So I'm guessing I need to break the existing connection from the power amp of the AC30 to the two speakers, so that I can cable the Fryette in between? Also, I'm curious about the effects loop in the Fryette. Does that mean I can have my reverbs and delays in there instead of in front of the AC30?

Great video! My PS2A is on the way! Quick question: I have a matched set of 8 ohm speaker cabs, each containing one 12 inch Celestion. Can I plug these 2 little cabs into the 2 speaker outputs and set the PS2A for 8 ohms and expect it to work okay? Just want to be sure that it won't see them as 16 or 4 ohms, that sort of thing.

Hey mate, thank you for checking the video out. I am no authority on this but my understanding is that you would set your head to 4 ohms if you are running 2 8 ohms cabs (it gets a little bit more complicated depending on if you run your cab in series/parallel). Setting your amp to 4ohms would mean that the amp is see a total of 8ohms with the two cabs. If you set your amp to 8ohms your head would be see a total of 16 ohms off of the two cabs which would be too much. But as I said I am no authority in this so please do so good research on this. Good luck man, two cabs should sound glorious.

@@chasingtone2022 Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I was afraid this was something to look deeper into so I will contact Fryette and see what they have to say. I have a Friedman Runt 20 and 2 separate 12 in. cabs. Sometimes I use just one cab and set the amp for 8 ohms. When I wish to use both cabs I use a special speaker cable that I wired so that the combined ohms are 16 and I then set the amp to 16 ohms. I can continue doing it this way but it would more convenient to to connect the 2 cabs with separate cables and the unplug one if desired. I suppose I'll just have to pay attention to the speaker ohm switch on the PS2A when doing this but I will confirm with Fryette and report back. Thanks again for great videos you create and best success to you.

Hi, I have a dumb question, what happens if the unit is off and the amp is turned on? Does it protect itself from that? because that may accidentally happen. I’ve heard a similar case with the Waza TAE which damaged the unit. Thanks

Hey man, there's no such thing as a dumb question. I just checked the manual and it says this: Silent Mode allows you to use the Power Station as a silent adjustable reactive load for quiet direct recor- ding or when sending a live amp signal to front of house with no speaker cab connected. In this mode it is not necessary to power up the Power Station. You don’t even need to plug in the power cord. The Voicing switches, Low Pass Filter switch, FX Send (along with the FX Level switch), and the Balanced and Unba- lanced Line Outputs all operate with no AC power applied. I hope that helps you.

I can answer this. Firstly I recommend you watch some other vids, this one is a little bit simple as there's zero explanation of what's going on inside the unit. You have to distinguish between the reactive load/attenuation and the power amp. You can use either or both at the same time. When you go from your amp's speaker output to the "Amp In" of the PS, you aren't using the power amp of the PS, you're only using the reactive load/attenuator. This is normal operation if you just want to crank your amp but then turn down the volume afterwards to get lower volumes and the controls only on the left of Volume will work (the presence and depth knobs are only applicable to the power amp). For a power amp application, you'd use a pre-amp into the line in of the PS and you'd plug a small cable between the speaker out and Amp In on the PS. This effectively uses the the Power Amp within the PS and would allow to use the depth and presence. Another way of doing this is instead of using the poweramp in your combo/amp, use the send in the FX loop of your amp to the PS and use the power amp within the PS. I hope this makes sense.

@@chasingtone2022 when pressing Power On the fan comes on independently from the load being active or not. This is the case for the PS2A and the PS100. The hum comes on when the bypass is switched off, ie. you are in re-amping mode.
