    I built my own ISO cab with an EVH Celestion inside. I’ve compared the tone to running an IR version of the EVH Celestion using Mooer Cab X2. I admit the IR is a fantastic reproduction but the recorded wave forms show much more detail being picked up with mics. Also, I can get a louder recorded tone with the ISO without clipping. Will anyone notice? No. But since when do we guitar nerds care about what others think….lol

    Hey Shea, HUUUGE JC fan here - I'm also curious why the move from Khaler to Floyd? I'm glad you guys didn't cheap out with a Floyd 1000 and went OFR but the Khaler on the old one is just so unique. I'm sure most of the Cantrell purists out there wouldn't have minded a bit more price tag to get something like a 7300 Khaler option.

    If they use Jerry's name to sell the new Rampages, they better not leave out that Jerry himself said he prefers the Kahler over the Floyd Rose. For me, Kramer is already the king of 80s-style Floyd Rose superstrats, so a Floyd Rose Rampage is pointless.

  • @Darth.Shredder

    I love G&L and I'm a big Jerry Cantrell fan... I've played GL's since the 1990's and currently own 11 of them. That being said, I am NOT a fan of this new version of the Rampage. I think the 24 frets look really weird on this model. If G&L was going to offer 24 frets then IMO, they should have done it on the Invader model (the Jackson Soloist version). I think having a Floyd instead of the Kahler that everyone identifies with this guitar with, or even the G&L dual fulcrum tremolo is also an odd choice. These are my personal opinions YMMV, but as someone I believe would be their target consumer, I'll be passing. IMO, if they want to appeal to new players, then maybe do a baritone version or a 7 string.

    I’ve been waiting to see a video like this. I have the PS-2a and have been using it as an attenuator. But have been watching the modules being developed and thinking what a handy way to have what ever sound profile you want at all times. My question is what do you need to run the modules into the PowerStation? Since the PowerStation is its own amp, it doesn’t need the Synergy or Randall amplification. What is the most cost effective way to utilize modules with a PowerStation?

  • @chasingtone2022
    @chasingtone2022Ай бұрын

    Hi Don, thanks for checking out the video and commenting. The most cost effective way to start using the Synergy system with the Power Station is to buy a Synergy Syn 1. This is a unit for a single module that can be plugged into the PA-2A. I hope that helps. Chris

  • @donmcdonald4874
    @donmcdonald4874Ай бұрын

    It isn’t really that cost effective because the Syn1 is $500, the module is $500 and the PowerStation is $1,000, so it’s $2,000 before you even have one set up with no speakers.

  • @donmcdonald4874
    @donmcdonald4874Ай бұрын

    If I can bother you with more questions. What’s the purpose of the SYN 1? Why aren’t the modules standalone preamp sections than can be plugged into the power amp or board on their own?

    What effects/pedals are you using? I really want the Jerry Cantrell signature wah but can’t justify spending £200 on a pedal! I used a Boss Katana patch for the intro to Rooster in my video, it worked ok but wasn’t quite the same as an actual pedal

  • @chasingtone2022

    @@JojoFryrocks for this video. I was using a John Petty Lift and SD1 - the wah is a Morley Bad Horsie (Steve Vai pedal), such an amazing Wah - although I would love to get Jerry's but £200 is a hefty price. Effects wise, theres a touch of delay and reverb that I added in my Daw. I am pretty sure that the beginning of Rooster is a Rotovibe pedal. Your Tone on Rooster was spot on though. I believe the only way you can do this is, plug into your cab - turn down the volume on the front and use the Line out on the back (and the line out volume to moderate this) to go out to an interface (I assume this is what you mean to do). Does that help at all?

  • @teatime6414
    @teatime64142 ай бұрын

    I can answer this. Firstly I recommend you watch some other vids, this one is a little bit simple as there's zero explanation of what's going on inside the unit. You have to distinguish between the reactive load/attenuation and the power amp. You can use either or both at the same time. When you go from your amp's speaker output to the "Amp In" of the PS, you aren't using the power amp of the PS, you're only using the reactive load/attenuator. This is normal operation if you just want to crank your amp but then turn down the volume afterwards to get lower volumes and the controls only on the left of Volume will work (the presence and depth knobs are only applicable to the power amp). For a power amp application, you'd use a pre-amp into the line in of the PS and you'd plug a small cable between the speaker out and Amp In on the PS. This effectively uses the the Power Amp within the PS and would allow to use the depth and presence. Another way of doing this is instead of using the poweramp in your combo/amp, use the send in the FX loop of your amp to the PS and use the power amp within the PS. I hope this makes sense.

    Great video, I know it been up a while but I just checked it out. Question, will this handle a 100 watt head amp? Or would I need to move up to the PS100? Also, the effects loop when you run a couple of boxes through is it ready to be used or is there a switch that needs to be made to get them engaged? Sorry if it seems if these are dumb questions.

  • @SportModDriver88
    @SportModDriver886 ай бұрын

    Maybe you can clear something up for me. What is the reason behind doing this? If you already have a 100 watt amp head and a 4x12 cab and it already has an Fx loop built in to the amp head, what is the reason? I understand if you are using this to power maybe 2 separate stereo channels for W/D/W setup but why do this with just the amp and cab? What is the reasoning/benefit?
