The Fryette Power Station® - a new amplifier attenuator and re-amplification solution, offering players intuitive and precise control over amplifier volume, distortion behavior and a wide range of highly refined tonal qualities previously unavailable from any single attenuating or re-amping product.
Built on decades of experience producing the finest all-tube power amps available, the Power Station is a practical and highly functional tool that solves problems frequently encountered in live playing and recording environments. It beautifully accentuates the inherent qualities of any amplifier and allows your amplifier to breathe and dynamically respond to your playing technique the way a great guitar amp should. The Power Station is designed to be transparent, user friendly, reliable and ultra-responsive to a wide array of guitar amplifier and speaker types. It also integrates seamlessly with any combination of internal and external speaker configurations.
The Power Station also excels as a power booster, something that no other attenuator can do. Just as you would connect a big amp to reduce output volume, the Power Station can also be used to boost the output of a small amplifier. Imagine taking your mini-amp or small vintage combo to a gig and having enough power to be heard without sacrificing feel and tonal quality. It is not only possible, but easy and fun!
Finally, your Power Station functions as a versatile silent reactive load for direct recording by simply connecting the Balanced or Unbalanced Line out to your recording interface.

This is very high quality. I bought it for my 2204 Marshall. Worked just like I wanted. Then I tried it through my Engl, Soldano, DR. Z And Marshall Studio plexie. It worked great through all of them. Sound quality is second to none.. Great job Steve and thank you. CW.

A great explanation of frequency response and flat is what we perceive as flat.

I‘m glad I found this video 🙏 I was pretty sure flat is non reactive as it felt like that. So presence and deep are adding from zero to full and not subtracting from 12 o‘clock downwards and adding from 12 upwards if I got that right!?…

Digging these. I've often thought my PS-2 and PS-100 sound "flat" at different settings for different amps / loads. Good to know I'm not any more crazy than I already was before.

Could you develop a 50/50 stereo version of the Power Station - with a stereo FX loop? Just imagine what a game-changing product that would be. You could run ANY tube amp in stereo to two cabinets without needing a separate head, while utilizing the attenuation/re-amping wizardry of the PS.

I set mine to where it sounds good and don’t give a thought to if it’s ‘flat’ or not. You’ll end up with overanalysis paralysis otherwise. Let you ears be your guide and not your eyes.

I'm looking closely at the power station, primarily just to use as a power amp. I'm running a Friedman IR-X from the send out, and want the equivalent of a good tube power stage in an amp. Is the power station going to be too neutral or flat for this purpose? Would I be better off with one of the other Fryette power amps if my use case is NOT to attenuate and then re-amplify a signal that already has power tube saturation going on?

The Flat setting is Perfect for TrainWrecks. As in Real TrainWrecks JMD's. as close to transparent as you can get, and Lets you Wreck at low volumes. Are the Power Stations Expensive??? NO and Pfhk NO. These are a very strong value for your dollar. It is what you are getting for your money. The PS 100 is a Beast and when you are cranking the Wreck. The KT 88's in the PS really go to work.. I am thinking in Part that the 88's are Attenuating due to the heat that is being dissipated... and that is Brilliant Engineering.

TLDR set where it sounds right... That's a very bad answer to be honest. Many people are asking where is the flattest setting because they want to address EQ adjustments in whatever pre-amp they're using (in the scenario where the PS2 is being used as a power amp). And using the EQ on PS2 for small adjustments (different venues etc). I'm using a Fractal FM3 with a PS2-A and I have to boost the lows to the max I can on the PS2 to make it sound ok. Now it could be that my preset is to bright/doesn't have enough low end or it could be that the PS2 doesn't have enough low end. Without anything to compare too I wouldn't know. In other words what i think people are asking is not about volumes (FM curve), speakers influence, perception, ears, bla bla. It's literally which configuration the PS2 is not adding or subtracting frequencies, aka the "flattest " setting. Is it setting eq on "flat" with presence and depth turned off? Looks like it is. Not sure yet

Yes I agree...I couldnt have said it any better.....That IS why I'd like to know what "flat is" ie: What setting is it where the power-station is not adding or subtracting any "EQ" of it's own

Why are these things so damn expensive? I really only want it for the effects loop because I don't want to mod my amp. But it is way too expensive for just that.

I use mine to add an fx loop to my jcm 2203. Its wonderful. Also being able to play in the house with literally my girlfriend asleep in the next room is an added bonus. Retains your amps original tone, plus with tone shaping options and other channel (which i use just for a volume boost) make it well worth it. Also it can take preamps as well. Its amazing
